don't use the FCR mod
there are no dlc or other things you should be aware of :)
My personal suggestion is to turn anything off that looks like an inventory item like say the Herbalist gloves. I somewhat regret not knowing this going in and as a result getting stuff like Raven armour and herbalist gloves pre-equipped which you won't even bother replacing until at least chapter 2 or whenever you craft the Kayran armour, and even then I still have those DLC gloves onlook like ass on my character btw
I think the one and only consolation in this is the fact that by the time I left that game my character in The Witcher had had masterful skillsets particularly in everything from group fighting to HP to having elite level equipment etc., as you do when finishing an adventure-RPG.
So in that regard if you did play the first Witcher I don't see the problem to just leaving it all enabled since you're already starting the game far weaker than when you left it in the last game, which is particularly irritating that they bafflingly put Signs in weird progressions so I didn't even have Igni upgraded for a long ass time.
