With a controller, movement and camera control feels more natural.
I use a combination of both with a Steam Controller. I use the game's default gamepad configuration, then I map some keyboard keys to the Steam Controller's unused buttons. It took me time to find the right configuration that I wanted, but I eventually got it.
There's some degree of clunkiness that is inherent in the game, that can't be blamed on the type of control you use. For example, I find the arm-wrestling and dice-rolling mini-games difficult to win with either gamepad or keyboard.
Yeah aiming is hard. I admit I sometimes blindly attack toward the direction where I think the enemy is. And ranged attack is tedious. I've given up completely on daggers. If throwing bombs wasn't useful, I'd give up on it too. There's a target lock button, but not very useful when you're being group attacked.
I was referring to Witcher 2
You can rebind the keys,
When you launch the game, select "options' in the launcher and then select "input settings' --> here you can rebind keys.
So you can use esdf. :)
Though some keys like c,i,m and j cannot be rebound for some reason.
Tried playing this game with it and I am enjoying it so far.
Also set the difficulty to the insane just for ♥♥♥♥ and giggles, didn't had too much trouble, but then again, I haven't finished the begining of the game yet (nor on keyboard, maybe was burnt out cus I had just finished w1, got all 3 games at the same day)
Never played with controller before but I gotta say, I really enjoy getting all comfy. Also my controller is wireless.
Oh, you don't need to map any keys, it has a preset and I haven't changed anything for it yet, it is slower to change spells and itiems, that is true, but I think I prefer it that way, not getting overwhelmed with all the keys on keyboard. The swapping on keyboard may be faster but damn the preset is stupid and I am too lazy to change it to what I would prefer.
Sorry if this post is all over the place :c
