Of course, this is not the normal behavior of the game. It smells badly like a corrupt save game.
Do (or did) you use any cheats, mods, console commands etc.? If not then upload your save before you meet the guardian and post the link. I will have a look at it.
I'm actually trying to troubleshoot friend's bug, so I cant upload it now. We'll try checking the integrity of the game, but not sure that will help either :/
If you enter the sewers and activate “Find Philippa” segment of ‘For A Higher Cause’ BEFORE attempting the area of where the Resonating Crystals is. You’ll have that bug cutscene in the wall.
My suggestion is if you do go into the sewers before the quest, is to fully walk through the sewers until you come across the cutscene with that wisp.
I had to reload different saves in order to figure this out.
Also, that “Project Mersey Fix pack for the Witcher 2” does not fix the bug, but it did provide better fixes/gameplay for other things like when rolling the dice, but it isn’t necessary.
