I don't remember switching on such an option that lets it do that, how do i turn it off? it doesn't even revert to my options after quitting the game.

Only thing I can think of is exiting the rgb software while playing the game.

I have an alienware focused setup, the way it interferes is that it makes it a terrible blue color in night time and a terrible yellow in mornings and flashes between orange and red in fights

contrary to what you say, it only stopped switching off of my own rgb settings when i actively had the application window on. I will try fully exiting the program too though

How is that contrary to what I say? That does not stop it being your rgb software. You are mis-understanding what is going on, it is the RGB software that is telling your rgb hardware what to do in certain situations. The game point blank directly has no rgb control. Again it has been known for rgb software to do this.

I simply mentioned razor cortex as an example, I did not mean just only razor has the issue for instance I have MSI mystic light controlling mine and occasionally it too goes a bit weird from time to time.

You understand this is an ancient game, rgb was not even a thing when this came out.

How is that contary to what I say? That does not stop it being your rgb software. Again the game directly has no rgb control. Its your rgb software changing things depending on what the game is doing, or mis-interpretting what the game is doing. Again it has been known for rgb software to do this.

Don't get me wrong, there are two things here. I agree when you say that the rgb software CONTROLS the change of the rgb settings but when I did a bit of experimenting I saw that contradictory to your tip of exiting the software while playing that it actually stops said changes to rgb settings when I actively have the window open in the background.

So this is not a "You are wrong, I disagree with your whole point" Thing this is a "You thought this would work but I did some more digging and learnt that it doesn't work the way you assumed, here's how it is, cool, still thanks for the help though" thing.

Sorry it sounded like you were saying it was not the rgb software doing it. My bad :)

Does your rgb software have an actual "rgb off" or maybe a manual setting (so it ignores inputs from games etc) Ive only used the alienware rgb software briefly.

I found this thread with someone having issues with civ 6 and alienware rgb, not sure about the latest version, but they appear to have removed the taskbar icon which would turn off game activation.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Alienware/comments/9bxwds/anyway_to_disable_game_activation_of_alienwarefx/

It mentions if you go into taskmanager and kill the resident background process, the lights go to default.

Though the thread is a couple of years old, maybe the new command centre has the option somewhere to turn off game activation.

my whole setup is alienware so instead of killing the entire software I just open the edit screen of my preferred rgb theme and it forces it to be the way it is, I've had the command center for quite a while and have never seen such a " 'optimize' for game " option nor enabled one. My current fix seems to be enough and I'll do further research if it gets any worse later on but still thanks for the responses.

oh ♥♥♥♥ never mind just found it
It just had a very non-clear name and a very small icon that barely explains it which is all in the seperate tab of a very out-of-the-way settings button
I hope it works.
