The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition

Patch 3.4 Ingame Steam is not available
I don't know, if anyone else got the problem, but since I'm running the Witcher 3.4 Patch I can't open Steam ingame via SHIFT+Tab and I'm also not able to make screenshots.
My Steam and Witcher 2 settings allow both, but it doesn't work ingame.
Does anyone have an idea how to fix this?

Some quick googling reveals these old threads.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I did patch it, unfortunately.
Sounds like I can't go back without deinstalling the game, right?
Now it's doing an update with 8.4 GB, I don't know where this came from right now ... oO
Where are my save games? I want them to be safe, if I have to reinstall the game.

In general, applying patches for non steam versions of games to steam games stands a high chance of breaking the steam integration. Steam will usually have the latest version, exceptions to this do exist but are few and far between.

A bit more googling found the patch notes for v3.0 that states that the steam version is already at 3.4 http://en.cdprojektred.com/download/enhanced-edition-patch-3-0-separate-files/

Verifying the files should just redownload the files steams sees as having been changed so your saves should still be there and hopefully it's won't have to download and reinstall the entire game.

Your saves will either be in your documents folder>Witcher 2>gamesaves (if you have never used steam cloud)
Or in your steam library>userdata>your user number>20920>remote

I've found the save data.
The verifying helped nothing I guess. It searched the files for two seconds or so and then it said "Scan finished" and nothing else, nothing happened ... So, I don't know, if it was successful.
That Update, that is still running, started before I started to verify the files.
I will start the game after that update and we'll see.
I've created a copy of the save files, just to be sure. xD
The only patch I´ve installed before the 3.4 was that patch to prevent the game from any crash because of some german words with ä ö ü and such - and that worked just fine.

Okay, so whatever he started to update even before I verified the files, it solved the problem and brought my Witcher2 back to it's original version. I only reinstalled the german crash fix patch again and now all is running fine again. Steam and the screenshots are working too. My save data is okay too, so I only "lost" some achievements.
So it was definitely the 3.4 Patch.
Thanks Furiey for your help!

Hopefully the download works. Fixes are usually not so much trouble but there may be steam and non steam versions, main game version patches - chack very carefully.

Edit: Glad it worked - have fun!
