The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition

Chapter 1 Lethos fight is impossible
How can I beat this fight? I looked at the videos but he moves so fast. I take damage and I didn't even see the animation. There may be problems with my system. I have a i7 core PC with 16 GB of memory and a GTX960 accelerator. I am running Windows 10. There are some strange issues like when he hits me there is an animation and I can't move or respond then he hits me again without me seeing it. There is another issue where I cast the Aard spell and I press W as fast as I can but there is at least two seconds before my character moves. Is this lag in the Windows 10 USB wireless keyboard driver? There was trouble with the USB mouse wireless because the Windows 10 driver takes SO MUCH CPU time that I system would lag out so I got a wired gaming mouse. Anybody else have this problem or some idea how to win this fight?

I set the settings to medium and modified the screen resolution to 1920x1080 and it improved the performance but the lag on the keyboard still exists. This might be the lag in the Windows 10 USB wireless keyboard drivers. The same lag that was obvious in the mouse. At least by modifying the graphics settings, I did 30% damage instead of < 1%. I will beat him with this even with the slow, laggy USB wireless drivers.

no but seriously change the difficulty to dark mode before the boss fight as it can take probably 15 hits to neutralize letho. On normal difficulty, weapons tend to do very minimal damage to enemies thus probaby taking lots of swinging and bashing around to kill the enemy. As a reference, I used the steel sword that deals 14-18 damage. I remember playing this game 3 years ago on normal difficulty, and it seemed IMPOSSIBLE to fight letho, I then had to trap letho in corner so he would not be able to move, but it took many attempts from hours upon hours of frustration. Don't worry i use windows 10 to play this game and so far i am enjoying it; however, if i were you i would use a controller to play this game for a better experience.

I have Superb Sword of Dol Blathanna with Earth and Fire rune. Maybe it should just two fires? I have tried over 20x to kill him. But he hits me with multiple attacks and I cannot move so then I die. I try to use keyboard to use move right or left + roll but it takes too long for game to respond to keyboard. I guess its all about timing or something like that. Is there a way to move the camera farther behind the main character?

Not really. I would recommended to use quen and then keep dodging his attacks. Then use yrden to trap him. Make sure you have 2 or more bars of magic left before using quen. I don't know man, i too have win 10 and I have not faced any lag despite me having a wired peripheral. Load a save before the fight and then change the difficulty through the pause menu. The higher the difficulty the more damage you deal, but keep in mind once you mess up, it is basically game over. Do not change it to insane though, just dark.

I finally figured it out. Here is how I did it. First I removed the wireless, USB mouse and wireless, USB keyboard. The lag on these devices was terrible. I reduced the graphics to medium in the Options menu so that the low FPS went away with spells.

1) Normal mode
2) Superb Sword of Dol Blathanna (found in hospital secret room behind rocks)
3) Hunters chest piece
4) Rook, Golden Oriole, Tawny Oil potions active
5) Use Aard, roll in (W + space), hit him 3x and roll out (S + space or D + space).
6) Dodge his attacks by using roll left or right (S + space or D + space).
7) Keep attacking with Aard and rollogin left or right.

The reason I kept loosing was that I stayed away and he was constantly using the lightning shield so that I could not hit him.

I hope this helps others.

If you want a short Letho-fight, then begin the fight with an Aard as soon as you get control after the cutscene. This prevents Letho from casting Quen which is very annoying when he is successful. And now don't let him off the hook anymore.

DL normal: It's possible to control Letho completely with Geralt's Aard:

DL hard or Dark Mode:

Use Yrden, and before it expires, use Yrden again. Letho looks helpless, but they chat like nothing much had happened.:steamhappy:

(DL: Dark Mode)

In both cases the fight will last for half a minute + -.

Thank you! In the end I controlled him with Aard and used the back/left/right dodge (S + space or A + space or D + space) to get out of the way of his attacks and survive.
