anyone know if they took out the ability to extinguish the pillar torches? i can only do one to stop the OP gargoyles during this bs bossfight

Nothing has changed with the Operator fight. The gargoyles need to be killed to lower his defenses. It's one of the boss's mechanics.

If you got Winter Solstice attribute (achievement tied to it), it makes your Aard sign capable of freezing enemies. This makes gargoyles instant-kills when they are frozen.

they made the room smaller for the special edition. Ive passed by torches/pillar and not been able to extinguish them.

I ended up beating him and the gargoyles without turning off the pillars though

Yeah if there was ever anything to do with the torches, you can't extinguish them with aggro (while charging up between summon phases I bugged the Operator into peaceful mode a couple of times, so I put out two torches for funsies, but that's all I got).

Just accept the respec or ask to get booted out in future... that was one hell of an annoying fight.
