If you want a simple and just starting out, go for the quest 2. with a good storage if you can afford it! including a link cable to your pc! even if its a laptop still getting one is advised!

Personally I have the index and I find it alot better, as I have high quality, sound and finger tracking. as well as other features, like being able to play certain games that are ONLY PCVR.
You will need a good computer to of course RUN a PCVR headset. if you do have a good enough computer, you could also run games in VR with mods, Skyrim, Fallout, etc. and im able to run it all thanks to a good computer and index.

I dont own nor really have a reason to get a quest, so I can't really give ya the deets on that. but that's my own personal small slice xD

I mostly got these parts from streaming and the like, but ive also had these parts for quite some time, and they've lasted me for awhile now
And another question if you dont mind is NVDIA better for VR? I heard AMD drivers can be a pain....
Your computer should be A-okay for vr! just don't go overly crazy if you decide to touch modding on some games and install every graphic mod known to man and you should be fine! there are also tutorials you can look up along side for vr equipment to get the best performance and personal prefrence to how you should move, play space, etc etc.
Of course! ive been in vr for so many years now, its always a treat to see new people be interested in vr! and I know how scary it can be, so Im always willing to throw my hand out to give a bit of a start in the world of VR
