the sentinel in 3-8

so I am tring to get the S rank for 3-8, and I keep having trouble since you can only be seen 3 times. After multiple attempts I decided to watch a video you help, and something kept puzzeling me.
The first jump over the top of the sentinel, the video showed that you can make that jump WITHOUT being detected, however when I try it, I keep getting spotted. I tried wating a moment, I always jumped when the camera was away, I even tried jumped when the pulse was comming out so i could go over it.....and it spots me every time.

Playing SBD in 2022 I was having the same issue. I've managed to do that jump without being spotted once, out of over a hundred attempts, and I still don't understand even conceptually how one could jump there unspotted.

In the end I realized you can instead avoid the 2nd detection in the video from the guide. Don't just rush to the first terminal. If you drop down to it as soon as possible and very quickly jump back out after hacking it you can make it alive and unspotted. This wastes a bit of time but still nets you S rank.
