Cant escape the hacked/XP lobbies.....

As I am sure everyone is aware, the ghosts mosh pit is probably atleast 50% hacked lobbies at any given time. Personally, the moshpit is my favorite playlist. I am wondering what IW is doing about this problem?

I don't mind just leaving the hacked lobbies, reporting the players in them, and searching again for a legitimite one. What I DO mind is when I join into what looks like a perfectly legitimite game of Free Fall Cranked, get spawned infront of an easy 3 piece and take it without even thinking twice about it, only to find out that I gained 90000 XP and have gained 8 levels before I could react..

I am not interested in these hacked lobbies, but the XP boosting lobbies are the worst, because they catch unsuspecting players off guard and give obscene amounts of XP to people who wanted to actually earn it by playing through the game. I accidentally got the 90 k XP, one of my other friends was instantly prestiged after 1 kill, and yet another one of my friends went from 54-60 in a matter of 2 kills. None of us wanted this.


Tips for determining if a lobby is hacked or boosting:
A - if you get thrown into a game and there are only 1-3 people in and playing, it's an XP lobby
B - if you join a lobby and there is only 1-3 people in, and the COUNTDOWN starts, it's an XP lobby
C - if you join a lobby and the majority of the players are high prestige, yet have only 1-2 days of game time, it's probably an XP lobby
D - if you get thrown into a game, check the scoreboard and there are 4-6 people on each team, chances are it's NOT an XP lobby. still, you can hit T to type and ask "XP lobby?" People tend not to respond to this. If you are intent on staying and finding out, try to get an objective. See if you get the correct amount of points for it. Be careful shooting anyone until you have ♥♥♥♥♥♥ some form of assurance that the XP is at normal levels.
E - if you find a lobby that isn't hacked or boosted, stick around for multiple games and encourage the other players to do the same.

All that being said, I still don't trust it right now. We honestly don't even PLAY the mosh pit any more, because even by following the guidelines I listed above, there are no solid ways to distinguish between the legit lobbies and the XP ones aside from getting a kill and seeing how much XP you get.

This is a big problem.. Infinity Ward, what exactly are you doing about this? FWIW I love the game, but I am not happy about being forced out of my favorite playlist (that I got for pre-ordering your game, I might add) because it has been completely dominated by hackers, cheaters, and boosters.

I'd like to see something done in the next patch. Your legitimate players are:
A - Unable to play the ghosts mosh pit the majority of the time
B - Being prestiged and leveled up massively by suprise in random, public matches
C - Worried about catching BANS from finding themselves in these lobbies and inadvertantly receiving huge XP
D - Wondering where EXACTLY the report system leads to? What is the process?

I had the same problem, before i realised the mosh pit lobbies are hacked. I was already ranked up! :(. So the next couple of days I wont play Ghosts. I hope they fix this xp boost issues. It's no fun to play.

The last moshpit match I played boosted me from rank 20 to 40 in a single match with tons of squad points. It's best to stay out of that game mode. It's obviously unsecured P2P hosting crap like MW2 & 3. You gotta love how they lied about dedicated servers.

I seen these a lot, nothing much we can do. I hope they don't ban legitimate players though if it isn't their fault and you joined on accident.

Any speculation as to why the ghosts moshpit playlist is targeted and the others are not?

What worked in MW2/3 was to stay in the game, hit cntl-alt-del to get your task manager up, close steam before the game.
Doing this stopped steam syncing the clients data of your new found instant ranks to the steam cloud.
When you started the game again you were back to where you were at the last sync.
Not sure if this method works for ghosts yet (it should in the P2P matches) as i have been fortunate not to encounter a cheaters lobby to date.

I just joined a game with my fresh prestige 1 and got 2 kills and before i even know whats going on im lvl 60 maxed out. The lobby was full. This is freaking ♥♥♥♥. Hope the anticheat gets improved

I had the same thing happen last night. I hadn't tried the moshpit before, but as groundwar was dead I gave it a shot. Moshpit was always my favorite in BO2. I drop in midway through a round of Cranked on Free Fall with a brand new level 5. At the end of the game I go to change my loadout for the next round, and my lvl5 is now level 60 and I have ~85 more squad points than I had before. I didn't want this.

I'm not that great at the game but I have fun. It took me six months to max prestige BO2 and I was proud to have done it. With this though it's kind of like one of Barry Bond's baseball records, it'll always have an asterisk next to it.

It seems like the hacked lobbies are fewer and farther between during the day.. Early evening and all through the night, it becomes almost impossible to find a lobby thats NOT hacked
