Maxed settings, horrible graphics bug?

I'm playing the game at 2560x1440 with all settings maxed and it looks absolutly rubbish.
And I don't mean compared to other games, I mean it just looks really really bad. Like some sort of bug.

I can hardly read things like signs or posters because the textures are such low quality, everything looks like small squares. When I look at videos online the graphics look a lot better.
It almost looks like it's constantly using the textures for far away things, like it won't load the higher resolution graphics for when you're near something.

Has anyone else noticed this or does anyone know how I can fix this?

if its a bug then its just the pc version isnt correct...because yes youre right the textures are awful yet go look up console gameplay and it seems fine

but that could just be the game itself on pc

Just looked at some more pc gameplay vids on youtube and even on youtube it looks a lot better than what I'm looking at when I'm playing. So I really think something's bugged.

Could write down my specs later, but I'm playing BF4 on highest atm without any problems. So I seriously doubt it's my specs.
Like I said, this honestly looks bugged.

Try and force your aspect ratio to 16:9 instead of auto? Ghosts somethimes dowscales his resolution you selected to keep his frames on 60 fps. I had that when i let the game choose my game settings on 1080p but the resolution was a lot lower(upscaled to 1080). And it looked horrible like you described. Make sure you selected everything manually in the advanced graphic section. I realy like this game if you cn get rid of the lag :p

The game is broken and unplayable :( Yes the game does not properly load textures and has horrible memory leak problems. For example, I have a solid PC with a decent GPU and CPU and 8 gigs of ram and I get about 60 FPS on everything maxed (except AA) in the begining on a mp match. After first death however the issues begin and the stutter and fps drops make it unplayable. This is clearly not the problem of the machine, the code is poor and the game is broken. What pisses me off the most is yhe lack of any kind of statement or apology from IW. They could at least say wheter they are working on it or not.

And yeah, same issues in single player. First 30 minutes smooth 56-70 and then horrible stutter and 20-30 fps until restart of the game.

Oh well back to CS:GO :P

OP: I'm having this problem since the update. I accidentaly okayed the request to use 'optimal' settings and after that couldn't crank it up to extra settings. I didn't reset to optimised on the single player campaign after the update and the graphics are all maxed out. Looks like a bug then. I've uninstalled and am currently re-installing both single and multi, so I'll let you know if this fixes the issue

same here. just set video to optimal. it gets rid of most bug for now. just means we have to put up with consol graphics untill we get another patch. also set ghosts to normaol priority in task manager.

I read the post you linked to Evil Flanker, and applied the changes. Didn't change my problem, but those changes to the config file lower the quality to boost performance if I understood correctly?

My problem isn't with performance, it's that everything looks like crap.
I don't know how to add a screenshot here though.

Just uploaded the screen to the first site I found that allowed me to upload a pic without signing up.

the pic actually looks better here than on my screen since the site made it smaller.
Look at the signs on the wall, can hardly read them here. They're totally pixelated when looking at them full screen. Notice how the truck looks like crap too, even the gun looks terrible on my screen.

Again, the site made the picture smaller, so stuff looks better. But when I'm actually playing everything looks upscaled from that.

I've tried uninstalling both single and multi, deleted the configs and the problem is still there. It's a bug. Nothing to do but sit tight and hope that some of those massive profits go towards fixing this quickly. Not good.
