Is there a way to play local multiplayer offline?

I don't think so. I couldn't find a way. It looks like there's only local for online. It's kinda weird since there's no need to be online if you're playing against bots or are on the same computer.

you "could" do a local game on your LAN, have to create a private match in order to do that. Creating a private match you have the option to set what mode you want, how many bots you want per team, what map you want to play on or random rotation of maps, skill level of the bots, etc.

That's what I do since the game crashes whenever I try to join a lobby. The other thing he can do is play squads against bots and level up too.
