This is what I got at least, I'm still at 2 teeth so I really don't know for sure, best if you wait for someone else to confirm what I said and eventually correct my errors :3
Haven't tried Nightfall yet tho, I'm more on MP right now, despite the massive lag due to the low playerbase and amount of bugs I don't seem to see as anyone else does...
EDIT: Seems it was just a coincidence, I might have knifed 2 scouts once the barrier hive went down and thought I got teeth thanks to that. You seem to take 1 tooth per barrier hive destruction plus the bonus pool, which I still don't understand how it works. Was 1 hive away from activating nuke and 2 rhinos ganged on me >_> but I got 4 teeth, and that's 2 barriers down.
If I had to make an hypotesis about the bonus pool, it's an MVP-style reward. Depending on the number of players in the match and the feats done, the bonus pool may grow or shrink. At the end of each stage (when a barrier hive is destroyed), the MVP gets the bonus pool.
Wish someone could confirm this...
Minimum price starts at 5 teeth, and it seems DLCs unlock more passives.
1)Victories - 1 tooth per mission completed
2)Kills - Seemingly at random (I doubt claims of higher drop rates from stabs, all of the ones ive gotten so far from kills I shot)
3)Bonus Pool - Teeth from the bonus pool are awarded for three different things; using relics, playing hardcore difficulty, and helping a player complete their first mission. The pool is restocked once per week.
Teeth are used to unlock passive buffs that can be toggled on or off after purchase. I dont know if there is a limit to how many can be equipped at once (I have 3 equipped now). The upgrades cost between 5 and 50 teeth.

Well, that's accurate XD Thanks
UPDATE: You get one everytime when you prestige.
After reading and trying lots of things, I think I know all the ways you can get teeth:
1. You get one teeth for completing a mission.
2. You get one teeth for every player who never completed that mission before and escaped with you.
3. You get one extra teeth when you complete a mission and you used one or more relics. (this means you will NOT get 5 extra teeth when you use 5 relics)
4. You get one extra teeth for completing a mission hardcore mode.
5. You get one teeth after every 600 aliens you have killed, no matter what game modes you have played.
6. There is a bonus pool with 3 teeth in it. You get one of those teeth by completing the first area of a mission. (destroying the first barrier hive and completing the first breeder encounter) The bonus pool refills after a couple of days.
1. Every 300 kills counts as two teeth, this is important on maps with higher spawn rates (Exodus and Mayday)
2. Every barrier hive counts as one tooth, so long as you have a tooth in your bonus pool, this is why Point of contact and Awakening are good for teeth
3. Every prestige awards you with one tooth, for a total of 25
4. Every completion awards you with one tooth
5. Every time you complete 12 in game challenges (12 skill points) you are awarded with two teeth
The tooth upgrades that are most valuable are in order,
1. Cryptid slayer ammo
2. Double class
3. Everything else from Nemesis
4. Class upgrades from Devastation
5. Do 5% more damage
