question bout the bot mode
so can you play against bots if steam is in offline mode? or do you have to be connected like bo1 and bo2?

thanks

ah that stinks. i think cs go allows you to play offline. not sure though lol. normally i have internet. i play cod4 and not so much the newer cod games. mostly cant stand the cheaters. but i still like them as far as the game itself goes. bo2 i like,so i now and then will just play with the bots to play the maps and the game.

but was really hoping for offline play. granted if i dont have internet i play the sp part to finish. but once that is done. lately i just run cod4 and play deathrun maps to practice.

thanks

Yup CSGO lets you play offline - my saviour when travelling to places with no/bad internet. For offline, I have pezbot for COD4MW, and modded my MW2 into an offline only bot game (with RSE bots), but these are 'ok' but still not as good as CSGO or Ghosts bots.

Ghosts bots are at least as good as CSGO and may be even better and due to the many flaws in MP, some Ghosts players are seeking for enjoyment from the bots, which I find very enjoyable.

I cant find myself to play SP more than 5 minutes - just not my thing too :)

The saving grace is all you need is some kind of internet connection -- doesn't have to be strong at all if not playing against people e.g hotel wi-fi, mobile hot spot, etc. -- To log onto Steam and then the Activision authentication servers. After that, you can just go to Private Match and play bots until your eyes bleed ;)

I know you don't need much. But at times you don't have nothing. Like our internet got worked on for an hour. I have pez bots as well. And I enjoy practicing the deathrun maps. Bo1 and bo2 were not bad either. Cheap at times as they follow you thru a wall and then shoot as soon as you pop out. Or not even facing you and instantly turn and kill you. But hey it's bots with auto aim.

Never new mw2 could do that. Mw3 I could see as it has dedicated un ranked servers. Just thought something like that may get me banned. I don't take those chances.

Then you have to wait when you have none :)

My point was if you don't intend to play online... and I can't blame you one bit... All you need is the bare minimum to log onto Steam and then the authentication servers and you're good to go for bot matches until the connection to the auth server disconnects -- Which happens from time to time; just reconnect.

Ah ok yeah I do this a lot with bo2. I like the game but not against cheaters. Bots are but at least I put myself there to play. And different levels. When I play against other humans I expect that. So when someone cheats it's frustrating. Cheats I mostly mean god mode, or aimbot. Other cheats are dumb but playable.

I remember CS's podbots have this cool thing where you can set the minimum skill and the maximum skill of the bots, and all the bots will randomly join the game with different skill levels between the min and max settings. That is a cool thing which doesn't seem to have been adopted by any game that I know.

did not know that thanks. most games you have to just set it at a specific setting. would be nice to maybe mix it a little.

Private Match has a "Mixed" setting for both friendly and enemey bots :)

Whoa, I didn't know that (even for Black Ops). This is good to know! Thanks!

Black ops 1 and 2 and I believe ghost as well have a bots mode. You can set up your own game and play. Bo1 it's training and you rank up and all like you would if playing online. Bo2 you can custom set up your own rules. I also believe there is an online training as well. You get half the xp but still rank up. And others can join the game. So it's mixed with bots and players. But you can only select one mode. So you can have bots set I believe to recruit, regular, and 2 or 3 more harder ones. Can't mix it.

In Cs. Go you can have the bot levels mixed. So some will be easy, some hard, and some in between.
