Problems after upgrading to Windows 10 1803 April update
I have played this game flawlessly on win10 since it was released, but this ms April update gave me problems.
The screen freezes while the audio continues. Only way out is 'sign out' or restart. So it's not a full crash/system lock. I have tried in-game setting 'windowed-no border' default is Full screen. I think I'm on to something because this does not freeze the display, instead I get a win error message box: Fatal Error, Read error of file 'xx(different filenames)' (0x00000006)
Different filenames, but always the same error code...
Yeah.. weird.

I also can't play COD Ghosts Multiplayer after the Windows 10 Version 1803 update. I start a game and after a couple of minutes of game play the screen locks and my PC Freezes. Have to reboot PC to unlock. This also happens with some of the other Call of Duty Games such as Call of Duty Advanced Warfare. I've seen only a few discussions on this problem. Appears to only effect some Call of Duty players. No way Microsoft is going to do anything. Steam will have to get involved to get the problem solved. I may go throught the process of reporting to Steam.

Yes, please report it to Steam if this doesn't get fixed. I reported this last week, through the 'Steam Client' option.
The answer I got was this https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=3352-RYON-4107 I went through that. Not the problem.
In my message I urged them to perhaps contact Microsoft or graphics driver makers (NVIDIA) since I was unsure which party was causing the problem.
When googling this mysterious error code... yes, this is cod related, going back years, but no fix. I have tried verify game cache many times and reinstalled the whole Steam client.
The final answer I got from Steam support was 'Problem is not Steam related' and directed me to this discussion forum.

If there are more people with this problem, please report it to Steam.
When there is enough people reporting this, then maybe, just maybe Steam will look into this and perhaps talk to Microsoft.

I fixed a lot of my Call of Duty Video Games that were crashing after loading Windows 10 Version 1803. I fixed by going into the new Windows 10 "FOCUS ASSIST SETTINGS" and make changes. I changed Focus Assis Settings to "Alarms Only" from "OFF" and Changed the Focus Assist Setting "When Playing Video Games Alarms Only" to "ON" instead of "OFF". Windows 10 Version 10 trys to send a notification when you are play a COD Game and when Focus Assist is not on the game locks up and freezes.

Interesting... thanks for the tip 73 year old person.
My default was 'Off', I just now set it to Alarms only. 'When I'm playing a game' was already 'On' in my case.
Yeah.. worth a try, because lately this has been happening very randomly in my case, so it could be notifications.

After 4 days of trying the suggestions that others had to fix the v1803 issues I finally went back to v1709. Used a recovery point to get back to the last v1709 that I had stored. Games run sweet again. Don't use the uninstall function, it did not work for me. Good luck.

Install latest drivers to your graphic card, all new updates from Windows Update to your system and update some programs to latest version to avoid other problems. Then try load the game with Windows 7 Compatibility with Administrator Previlegies bran new com and did all that still dont work
