Got 2 7950s with a 2500k @ 4.6
The game runs awfully, not acceptable
I get your point. The game isn't optimized, at least the multiplayer suite and that is no customer's fault. It's kind of expected though. On PC we've had launch issues with games since the start.
Recently, some games haven't even been playable like Diablo 3 or Sim CIty. Now, the PC community has to realize that buying a game at launch is a major gamble. Either you have to be ok with that or not buy the game. If only a few people buy the game at launch because most of the community is expecting crap, then things will change. Publishers will start making sure games are released in a better state but as long as people fall for the hype and buy at launch they won't change.
Plus no amount of complaining on Steam will fix the game. Valve can't make them patch it sooner then the patch is ready, assuming they even patch it. They aren't obligated to. IW or Raven, whichever one of these studios did the PC version could not even bother. That's the risk of buying PC versions of console games in 2013.
I have a Q9400 @ 2.67 and 1 X ATI 7770, game runs fine for me.
I get your point, and I also didn't expect a flawless game when I did preorder it, but I also have the patience to mess around with settings and get to a playable version till a patch eventually does come, Granted I am -upset- I can't take full advantage of my setup, I will certainly play through SP and hopefully by the time i'm done with that a patch will be out and I can get the full reason I bought the game, multiplayer. I'm not one to ♥♥♥♥♥ and moan in the meantime however, was just pointing out you and OP are saying "all of you" instead of "most of you" which does bug me.
Sorry it's edited....didn't mean to offend...
I can actually get COD Ghosts competantly playable right now. I've got it basically how Modernwarfare 3 played / looked.
I'm running:
Core 2 Duo E8400 @ 3.00GHZ
Radeon 7770 1 Gig
1980 x 1020 Resolution
8 Gigs of RAM
My Girlfriend's system:
Phemom II @ 3.1GHZ
Radeon 5700 1 Gig
1980 x 1020 Resolution
8 Gigs of RAM
Campaign runs great.
Multiplayer see a little bit of lag right when the match starts. Hers get out of it much quick than mine for some reason. Extinction starts bogging down a bit after a while but I've still had fun.
Anywasy, to echo some great tips:
Turn off Steam In Game Community
Set Multiplayer executable to normal
Turn off terrain detail
Manually set aspect ration
Modify settings to taste.
same thing, 2560x1440
Exactly, most new PC Gamers are so spoiled these days. They've never had to mess with Autoexec files, or config files. They've never had to set IRQ's for sound cards, or worry about managing vram and system ram. They've never had to find ways around VESA drivers. They have it so easy now....
Fair enough sir. I was a bit hasty in my original post and a bit peeved when I woke up and saw how many complaint threads are still here. I edited my post as well, didn't mean to make it seem like I was implying everyone who has an issue is like that. My apologies.
Where do you live in Kentucky Zephyr? I did my 30 days of Primary Leadership Development Course at Fort Knox. In the winter.....in a foot of snow. With jump boots with flat soles, that acted more like ice skates....
Yep
