Call of Duty: Ghosts

Split Screen Multiplayer
Why do developers assume that PC players don't have any friends in real life? One of the best things about the console versions of COD is the ability to take a friend online and play multiplayer in split screen.

Why do they refuse to develop this feature for the PC version? We should have the ability to play extinction mode and competitive MP in split screen considering PC's are more powerful than consoles...

Simple: One mouse and one keyboard. And if playing with a controller is your thing, play on a console. Split screen isn't really the PC space, its more living room type space
What if I told you that I have PS3, PS4, XBOX 360 and a PC. I use my PC 98% of my gaming time. Half of this time I play it on my 40 inch TV. With a gamepad.

You don't have to answer the guy, he's one-track mind.

Hey everyone, come support this forum so we can get local split-screen multiplayer in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare http://community.callofduty.com/thread/200867023 even if you don't like COD, in the end they are the franchise that sets trends within the industry, so it affects local multiplayer games as a whole for all platforms, but especially PC

Stop trying to make split screen PC gaming happen. It's not going to happen for a looooooooong time...
too late its already happening, We have ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Goat Simulator, Trials Fusion, Unreal Tournament 3, Serious Sam Revolution. but please check out the SteamTag page, and half of them arent even on there yet. http://store.steampowered.com/tag/en/Local%20Multiplayer/

But can you afford to purchase the bestial machine that would be required to run a split screen local game??

Mate... my pc cost about £500 bought it a year ago... it plays Battlefield 4 at medium settings 60fps... Unreal Tournament 3 (4 player split-screen) Full 60'fps no problems atall! we play it all the time even with all the custom maps

Actually it is. As a long time PC gamer, there were VERY few games ever created that had local machine coop

HAHAH, Really... heres a list of about 200 currently, just Steam Store games that have Local Multiplayer (Couch Multiplayer) http://steamcommunity.com/groups/LocalMPG

I've been playing split screen on pc since the 90's my first 4 player split-screen game was Rollcage released in 1999, yes we all shared the keyboard back in those days lol but its not the case anymore with native 360 controller support or xpadder if u have un native gamepad games.

While Steam's Big Picture and the Steam Machines etc. is definitely a gimmick, but I'd certainly love split-screens on almost all PC games that could "possibly" have it.
how is steam OS steam Bigpicture a gimmick? lol its just how the majority see it right now because its a free piece of software, once steam machines are being retailed to the masses more, u cant just say to those people that buy one, its a gimmick box, what does that make consoles? all consoles are just limited OS's with a TV friendly Interface. Furthermore u can keep all your games in the same library on steam for life! i dont call that a gimmick, thats organization, unionization! Steam is trying to create a utopian gaming platform for alll types of gamers to enjoy, besides most people i know are really dissapointed in the "next gen" consoles, theres only so much you can do to make the perfect living room media interface, it really makes no difference, you should use BigPicture more, steammusic coming soon, steam in-home streaming is cool too, soon you'll be able to log into multiple steam accounts simultaneously/locally just like on consoles.

I'm pretty sure the reason why they never include this feature is because of the fact that split-screen in CoD renders the game world twice. Having to render two versions of the game world at ultra graphics with max AA at 1080p is going to cause some strain on your computer.
This is not a reason not to do it. The game under those settings will strain some computers without splitting the sceeen. Also, the console versions look noticable worse with split screen as well, it's a known trade-off. You're also filling half the space, so it doesn't have to be as high a quality image to pass.

Ok so how do you think Consoles handle split-screen, do you think they have some magic module inside that makes it twice as powerful ha! No its got PC hardware inside, its old hardware, both PS4 and XBOX one have amd cards i think in the HD7800 series, this is such an invalid argument., You cant just generalize all PC users because not everyone plays COD Ghosts, and those that do play COD ghosts are gonna have a similar if not equal spec to current console specs so i dont see the point in removing split-screen.
copy and paste is their specialty. I guess ctrl a, ctrl c, and ctrl v was too hard this time

So you're saying PC Media Centers and gaming boxes shouldn't get this feature? You sir a genius...
Your right!! I bought this game with the intention of playing online with my bros on my big screen television!! Just add a split screen and allow for two players to play on one pc!! it isnt hard its an issue about money and how much steam will make along side the publishers if only one person could play!!
Lol its hilarious to think that my pc specs won't handel two players!! Of course it could and on top of that any dimwitted fool that thinks he has superiority over players who use a gamepad can suck deez nuts. Its not even about you or me its about these companies capping a=our ability to use our games purchased with our money!!! Its not my fault that I can afford a much more powerful machine and components that run all my applications flawlessly!!
Nice job bringing up an old ass thread.

But if you want the power and graphics of your PC, but play split screen with your friend... Yeah, I'm bringing this conversation back alive again! :)
