I have read that if you have lots of friends (like you) the main menu might lag.
To stop that, you can be offline (on steam community) to your friends to stop the freezing.
Those developers aparectly ported this game from the consoles, but it was a really bad port (while BOII had a very good one).
I know that both games uses the same engine, but the games are (not just different, but also) from different developers. That's why it may have bugs right now.
What 'offline mode'? All I've got for MP is 'online' mode? I haven't been able to play 'Squads' all day because this sh*tty game won't connect online - my BB connection is superfast hi-speed and is working fine (I've been using it all day), but with Ghosts? NOT A CHANCE.
How do you play this game offline? Clear instructions, please - thank you!
There are two ways to play offline on Steam:
1) That one you mentioned!
2) To set offline your Steam friendslist (The connection to the Steam servers are still online and required to play Ghosts online!)
I use the second option. Its weird but I can play with my friends online during my Steam friendlist is offline but its really complicated. You have to go back to the desktop, switch on your Steam friendlist, accept a friends invite. After that switch offline and go back to the game and play with your friends... But after a while the connection is unstable and I have to do the complicated again and again.... And that is stupid!
What is the fackin' problem on my PC to play Ghosts just with Offline Mode (friendlist offline mode). And with Black Ops 2 and older CoD versions I have NO ANY online problems... I dont get it.... And don't telll the me shice: "Delete friends on Steam!" Hey guys, this makes no sense in no fackin' way like I described above...
No real suggestion here other than HD tips. Get a fast HD, ensure you've a drive with at least 20 gig free and it's defragged and you're not running anything you don't need to in the background. A tip I got from a friend was get a fast USB 3 flash drive (see toms hardware for the good ones) and use it completely for ready boost. speeds things up a little, moreso if you have a SSD as your main drive.
Yes, I'm well aware of Steam's 'Go Offline' option. So, when I do this:
1. Steam restarts and I fire up Ghosts.
2. Get to the game's main menu and tell it I want to play 'Squads' (remember, I want to play it offline and Steam is now offline).
3. As soon as I select 'Squads' Ghosts quits to reopen the MP menu.
4. When I select 'Squads' there it only offers me 'online' and tells me it won't be playable unless I put Steam back online again.

BTW: I have opened up and played Ghosts several times previously online.
So, can you explain to me how I'm doing this wrong? I want to play 'Squads' offline because I haven't been able to get ANY online connection to ANY mode of Ghosts for nearly 9 hours now.
