Singleplayer Prologue not working properly
Hey, is there anyone having the same issue as me. Im trying to play the SP game and it works until the point just before you walk up the track into the house. Elias just stands there and doesnt move and then it tells me I got left behind if I walk to far away.

If I watch youtube videos of the prologue it shows that Elias and the other guy are talking as we are walking but that doesnt happen when I play??? HMMMMM?

Exact same problem. Did anyone find a fix that worked? I started starting new game a couple of times, verified files, et al., but nothing does any good.

I found a solution that worked. If Ghosts is installed to an external drive, this bug rears its head.
If Ghosts is installed to the same drive that Steam was installed to, no problem. Once I disabled v-sync, that fixed stuttering intro completely, so now it's good to go.

I would guess that Steam might be the culprit for this situation. I've experienced problems with Uplay games not working at all unless they are installed to c drive, no matter where Steam is installed. I've never encountered this problem with Origin. It's kinda recent that Steam has allowed us to install games to drives other than to the one on which Steam is installed. I'll try to send a bug report out today....,

Hmm.... this happened for me when I removed the sound.pak files to try and get rid of the in-game music. No voices, and the scripted sequences broke in various spots (they would just stand there with their lips moving but wouldn't do anything else). I put the pakfiles back and it worked again.

I recently updated windows 7 to windows 8 and still same issue so activision should have some explaining to do...
JiminToronto Dec 11, 2014 @ 11:15am
This happened to me when I bought the game and installed it for the first time on an external hard drive. That's a no-no and SP will not work unless you install it on an internal hard drive. It doesn't matter where and doesn't have to be where Steam is installed. As long as you let Steam do the install and you tell it where to install the game, it will work fine. I also found out that I was missing a lot of dialogue and other things in MP after I moved it to an internal hard drive. MP did actually play OK on the external drive.

When I experienced this bug back around March 2014, I opened a support ticket with Activision and I never got a response. The ticket is still open. LOL

@HogtownLeader still open heh? typical activision... mine is still open from 2013 8 december ^^

Same problem as OP. I also have it installed on an External HDD. No room left on my C: drive. I have many other games installed on it and no problems with them. I would just as soon have my money refunded than delete games form one drive and wait another 11 hours just to install this one on it. Not to add, having to reinstall all my other games.

Edit: I think I'll be contacting my Attorney concerning some of these issues here and Game Developers/Steam ripping people of with their screwed up games. I know it is my choice to purchase them but, I'm sick of all the ripping-off of my money for something I purchsed in good faith as a consumer.

Unfortunately, that's just the way it is. I don't know if Activision and/or Steam have ever acknowledged the problem. It sure would be nice if some kind of warning about this was posted somewhere or, better yet, a comment should be included in the game requirements.

@Arion

the above spec you posted shows it is using your intel graphics and not your nvidia card.
its a known problem but activision are slow at patching it.

try this

this is a known problem that only affects a few computers

Open Nvidia Control Panel

on the left side Go to "Manage 3D Settings"

Click on the tab that says "Program settings"

in the drop down box (number 1) find advanced warfare .exe and click icon
that shows sp (single)

(you will need to do the same again for mp (multi)

Now, at the bottom where it says "Select the preferred graphics processor" click on your dedicated video card either global settings (auto select Nvidia GPU or high performance nvidia processor

scroll down and on bottom right click Apply.

Reboot Steam and you should be good to go.
