This is as good a 'manual' you're going to get officially. It's a terrible manual though
There are likely other sites that offer guides and such.
thx i do have this one, which is from the Ghosts website. the in-game manual isn't this complete leaving what i guess are "user" choices to be selected.
another thing i've noticed you select one of these "user" selections, save and log off and when next you log in everything is back to starting settings.
frustrating. i'll continue to search, so far though just a goose egg.
thx again.
As far as I can tell, there are only a few commands associated with Riley. The Attack command (Q) and the use key (F) for Logan to link up with Riley. You need to hold the F key for it to work. You can also get him to bark using the F key and you can zoom in on his camera with the E key. All of this is prompted onscreen during the game.
Other than that, you just control him the same way you do with Logan. Movement keys to move him around and sprint key to get him running.
As for the HUD, only time I remember seeing one during the campaign were during the helo and the tank missions. Onscreen prompts tell you which keys to press for smoke, switching weapons, using chaff, etc.
The Multiplayer HUD isn't all that mysterious either. Minimap in the upper lefthand corner. In the upper right corner, is your player's stats for the match. Your position (1, 2, 3, etc, according to your score based on kills, deaths and other factors such as captures, tags, etc) and details about the match are listed there. As the match progresses, if you fall behind your teammates, your position will drop from 1 to 2, etc.
Bottom lefthand corner shows the actual score during the match. Blue is your team. Orange is the enemy. Every game has a time limit and a score limit. Whichever is reached first, determines the end of the match and a winner. Draws are possible.
Bottm righthand corner shows your ammo. When you switch from one weapon to another, using keys 1 or 2, it will show how much ammo is in your loaded clip at the moment and how much remaining ammo you have left. The bar at the bottom shows the clip and remaining ammo left as you fire the weapon.
To the immediate right, are you killstreaks that you have chosen for your soldier. Or perks, if you've chosen to equip him with a Specialist Strike Package instead of an Assault or Support Package. You can use them by pressing keys 5, 6 or 7 as you achieve them with the required killcount. You can also get Care Packages which you can obtain by using key 4 when you complete Field Orders. These are spinning blue briefcases you occasionally find on the battlefield. Complete them and you get Squad points which can be used to unlock weapons, perks and killstreaks for your soldier.
You can also creat a Squad of soldiers which can be unlocked with Squad points for playing other players' squads either offline (as bots) or online. You'll essentially be playing that other player (if online) and his squad which will be made up of bots. Your squad will be bots too, except for you. And this is helpful too in prestiging.
Prestige has been around for several CoD games but it works a little differently in Ghosts. This time, your main soldier will prestige when he reaches level 60 (Commander) but even when you reach level 60, you'll still need to completely level it an additional time in order to unlock the first prestige level. After that, your soldier will no longer be able to gain xp so you'll move on to another of your soldiers from your squad that you've set up. Do the same for that one and continue leveling. Each time you get a soldier to prestige, each soldier in the squad will show that icon.
Can't think of anything more to add here. It's all pretty much in the game. Enjoy yourself and have a great time. The game has a lot of issues but then what game doesn't these days.
Good luck.
