Which is the best COD game for single player?

I have no interest in MP, just the campaign. Have never played a COD game before.

As such, taking all that into account, which is the best COD game for the campaign?

The best Campain is the Call of duty Black ops Story! :D.

COD 1 (with UO) and 2. After that they started releasing multiplayer games with the single player as an afterthought. Console-itis struck. Perhaps some of the later games got better, but I really do not know because I never really paid attention to them after a certain point, due to $60 price for a 5 hour campaign.

Black Ops 1-2 are pretty decent storywise ! CoD4 is decent and MW2 was very fresh and surprisingly awesome for its time, MW3 is just bad and ends the MW series in a very predictable way. Ghosts has some fine moments here and there but its flat and AW I dunno I have to play that one but it has Kevin Spacey, nuff said lol ah and World at War has a decent SP campaign with buckets of gore !

play them both as the story is one, they are called 1 and 2 for a reason ;) surprisingly Black Ops 1 even connects to World at War :D

If you don't play cod you can start at cod2 then cod4 and cod.bo-1

Ok. I will try. But I think, BO1 graphics not too good for modern playing. Maybe start at 2.

DONT play BO2 first !! In BO2 you play as the son of the protagonist from BO1 and you will enjoy BO2 so much more when you play BO1 first ! and the graphics look awesome in both BO1 and 2, also BO1 has a better story than BO2 thats for sure !

Black Ops 1 actually looks better than Black Ops 2. Ask me and I will send you some screenshots of both games at highest settings, and you will see that the textures on lots of objects and characters in Black Ops 2 are very very badly done. Like really big square pixels on some parts.

Also the story in Black Ops 1 was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more interesting and mysterious than black ops 2.

Nothing beats the good old WWII CoD's when it comes down to singleplayer.

All matter of opinion really. I find the modern warfare trilogy to be my favourite (although that is 3 seperate games). The Black Ops storyline is alright, but not my favourite.

I know I'll take a lot of flak but I honestly think that Ghost has the better campaign after COD 4 -Modern Warfare.
I don't understand why all the hate for this game.
Technical issues aside I think they really push the envelope with the SP.
