Report a translation problem
The original Diablo from the 90s which runs in DOS still sells for $10, with only $2 off on sale.
Soldier of Fortune, which is a small time game I'd never even heard of still sells for $6 on sale. (That's from 2000. Deus Ex from the same year, by comparison, is $1)
It's Activision-itis.
Try to see if you can get a Steam code at lower price elsewhere or if you have the console, you may as well try for a 2nd hand copy on console since the online is basically dead anyway. As in, 100% deserted. Shame really, as this game's online had some awesome things like map-specific streak rewards, dynamic maps that change over time, and the "Cranked" game mode. Things which for whatever reason never returned but should be series staples.
