Keyboard or Controller
I played the previous 2 installments on an Xbox 360 but got Origins as a free gift with my GTX 670. I am wondering would a keyboard be better than a 360 controller?

I played the first two games with mouse and keyboard, even though I would usually play a game like this with a controller, and I actually had no issues whatsoever. I found the controls to be optimized VERY well and efficiently (all the necessary buttons were within a comfertable reach and there was no feeling of being limited). I'll probably do the same for Origins, though I'm not sure.

I've 100% finished Arkham City with Keyboard + Mouse, and done same for Arkham Asylum, and 100% finished Arkham Asylum on Xbox 360 twice. Controller takes A LOT longer to get used to in my opinion. You can't really control the camera with a controller, and the keyboard buttons are much better than having to memorize combinations on a controller. So definitely mouse and keyboard better in every way. But controller is just as good once you get used to it.

I gotta admit that is the very first time in my life that someone has said that memorization with a controller takes longer. I'm glad to hear that it's just as smooth with a mouse and keyboard. I played Arkham Asylum on both Xbox 360 and PC and it was just as smooth on PC, but because the controls were more complicated in AC I was worried that the PC controls would really get me, so that was my thought for Arkham Origins. But I've used complicated controls on PC before; it's all just a matter of what you're good with and what you're used to.

I just think they're about even. I'm as equally comfortable with a mouse and keyboard as I am with a controller.

We will see how much easier it is. It all just depends on what you're comfortable with...or what you can handle.

Awesome - I hope it works for you. Almost all 360 adapters are not made by Microsoft, as they quit selling the standalone adapter years ago.

i went with the wired 360 controller, as I don't have an XBox 360 and that way I wouldn't have to mess with batteries.

I use the controller for almost all 3rd person perspective games. With the Batman: Arkham series, it just made sense to use the controller to use the combos and so forth during fighting. Just like Mortal Kombat :) There are very few instances where precision that requires a mouse comes into play. You can always grab your mouse mid-game at any point, anyway.

FPS' are always the best when it comes to a mouse and keyboard. You can react faster than people can with a controller since you can adjust sensitivity and turn quicker. When it comes to flying helicopters or fighter jets though...it's a real pain in the ass. :/

Awesome that you could find one. My brother got a knock off, but it's been working fine for over a year now.

Knock offs are just as good if not better than the "official" brands. I've used a Mad Catz controller multiple times and just because something is an off brand doesn't mean it's any different. That's like saying the Trix cereal tastes different than "Fruity Balls". They're the same thing just with different names and the off brand is clearly cheaper.
