yeah arkham does seem to be scaled differently than I remember in arkham city.

do you know if there is a difference between Earth One, and Two Gothams? And I wonder which universe the Arkham games fit into? Or is it completely separate.
My guess is that they shrunk Gotham down and changed it around a bit for the games, creating their own layout which works best for gameplay rather than comic canon.
The Arkham games take place in their own separate continuity that sort of blends the comics universe (at least from before the recent reboot) with the universe of the DC Animated Universe that Batman The Animated Series was a part of.
No Man's Land is sort of like that, with the entire city of Gotham being cut off from the rest of the world, this story directly influenced the plot of The Dark Knight Rises, to give you an idea of what it's like.
Plus the ruins and Superman being an a$$... :D
