Youtube permission

I have already sent an email, tweet and an inbox message via youtube prior release, so I will try here.

Video in question is not monetized and will not be monetized unless developer gives permission:

Am I allowed on my channel to monetize content of Batman arkham origins? I wanted to upload some gameplay. Its a gameplay without commentary.

No, you can not monetize anything that is trademarked.

Yeah, just upload it and keep the volume to music down. Or turn the music off entirely. When ever they "YouTube" try to copy right my videos, now I just upload music to the small section they flagged it for and haven't had an issue since LOL.

Which is wrong. There are a lot of Let's play friendly developers (Such as VALVe) that give a widespread permission. Warner Bros requires you to ask them before you monetize.

No offense, friend. But I do not cheat my way through. If the devs / Warner bros would not like youtubers to monetize their Let's plays of THEIR content, then they have every right to say No :)

for now, I would say just upload a video without moniterization, then wait a day

yes you can monitize. fair use law allows us to, to critic or make reviews etc etc and besides, your monitizing your game play, which they dont own, your not monitizing there game.

your gameplay in their game doesnt make it yours,
if your making a review being a critic talking and whatever troughout your playing then its considered fair use.

keep in mind the game is owned by WB and they do have placed out rules for this,
id suggest just to wait for them to reply to the mail u send them earlyer for permission

u probably havent had a youtube vid getting flagged for legal issues then
i can tell you for the simple fact remains
the game is WB by means of legal issues you control the character but it will never be entirely yours
yes you control the char yes u can fair use policy upload videos ,
monetize it all you want and get flagged/sued
its simple as that

I seen plenty of people moneterize Lp videos, they mostly have commentary in them mind you. But, either or....that is besides the point here. The issue with this moniterization thing is that you need to get the express permission from the company who made the game to moniterize your gp vids, mattering on the company this can vary.

But, either or....I say just wait a day and see what responce you get from the company about the moniterization. In the meanwhile, just upload gp without it

That's not true at all. Under fair use laws you can monitize videos of items that you are reviewing or providing commentary on. Many "Let's Play" videos are monitized and their is nothing the publisher can do about it.

Some things you want to avoid are things like 3rd party songs that play in the game and such though.

Uhh using "fair use" is not going to fly, has anyone even reviewed youtube's terms of use?
You can't monetise -anything- that's copyrighted.
Sure most studios let it fly because of the "community", but WB (or any other) can literally give you a copyright notice whenever they feel like it.

Just because they haven't, doesn't mean they can't.

Eh, the publisher can do in fact EVERYTHING about it.

There are a lot of Let's play friendly publishers. But let me take for example "The Stanley parable" the videos I made about that game werent approved for monetization, why? Because the developer must write out a permission for us letsplayers to do so.

Warner bros has no widespread permission and Youtube can therefor deny you the monetization + Warner bros can do a lot about it as well.
