What's the length of a playthrough?

If I were to complete the main story mission and every side mission (including Ridler) in a single playthrough, how much time should I expect to devote to the game?

Currently, gamelengths.com only has four reported play times averaging 5:04 and it's likely those were players that blew through the game instead of enjoying everything the story had to offer.

I enjoyed Asylum and City, so I'm certain I will enjoy this game, but I have a formula to determine what price point I make my purchase based on the number of hours I will spend enjoying them.

5 hours? that's a joke. i couldn't tell you a good number though as i didn't keep tabs constantly, and it depends on whether or not you include Riddler's stuff as part of a side quest. If you do include it, then around 20 hours. If not, maybe 16 or so? I dunno

I would also say about 15-20 Hours - especially with the riddler stuff.

I'd say ~10 hrs if you don't pay attention to any side missions/secrets.
~20 hrs if you do everything.
But then there's also NGP and IATN modes.
And of course the challenge maps.
And multiplayer.

So yeah, I'd say worth full price, though at this point, you might as well hold out for the Autumn Sale and grab it then.

Thanks for the responses so far. I knew that the five hour average from the small sample size on gamelengths had to be ridiculously low.

Although the multiplayer sounds interesting, it's not going to factor into my price point. The older I get, the more I prefer solo experiences.

It took me about 35 hours to go through the first time, but I just about did everything I possibly could, spent time working on Challenge Rooms, getting all the Upgrades, doing the Predator and Combat challenges. I'd say 20 to 25 hours for just the main storyline and the majority of the side stuff (not doing the practice stuff in the Batcave: Challenge and Predator maps, etc).

I think I had about 15 on my first play through and I didn't even finish all the side stuff yet.

as Ive been going through the playthrough Ive noticed how it seems to be a fairly lengthy single player campaign which is great. so everyone's liking multiplayer? I havent tried it yet. how soon do you think itll be on sale?

It took me 12 hours just for the story and another 38 hours doing the side missions and the Dark Knight challenges (which I havent done yet)

Thats not just blowing through it, thats starting to be speedrun times. I'd say if you do just the story and do try to have some fun while doing it, about 8 to 10 hours for just the main mission. About as much, if not more, for the side missions and crimescenes and stuff. Probably another 5-10, maybe more, for all the Riddler stuff and other collectivables.

And then of course there is the whole challenge modes and multiplayer on top of that. Discounting Multiplayer, i think you can get easy 30 hours of gameplay from the game.

Seems about right. Played through the story earlier today where I skipped as much of the cutscenes as possible and defeated the thugs asap, it took me 4h and 32 min on IATN.

Think I had 25h played the first time I completed the story and did all side missions + collectibles. Worth noting that I did all crimes in progress that popped up and flew around alot enjoying the game in general.

Sometimes, I just like to open the game up and free roam. Bashing skulls and looking cool doing it... Priceless. And timeless. ;-)
