That "Crunch" noise after interrogations

Does anybody else get freaked out by that sound effect? Batman has his boot on the guy's face, he talks, and he smashes it down on his head, moving it to the side and thiere's this "CRUNCH/CRACK" sound effect. It sounds like he's breaking the guy's neck. What the heck were they thinking with that sound? Gives me the creeps.
