Batman punches the air in free flow
Sorry if this is a noob question but I haven't played the previous Arkham games before and don't know about the free flow combat much, when I'm in free flow combat batman sometimes punches the air with enemies still around in the middle of fight, making me lose my combo count.

Do I have to aim the camera to the enemies before clicking for the attack in free flow, or is this actually a bug?

Thanks in advance

You have to aim it unless you're right next to them. Also if you spam the strike button he will hit air.

Thanks for the reply, then may I ask what is the key to get a high combo score? I'm lucky if I hit 15.

Once you're in free flow try not to strike enemies with armors/shield because you will lose multiplier. Use beat down/aerial attack for each. If an enemy has a light stick, jump over his head and strike his back. If an enemy picks up a gun, take him out first. Beating down on an Enforcer is a good way of building up multiplier. AO has a training program that teaches you all the basics about fighting different kind of enemies. If you're new to the game, you might want to master different skills using the training program. Once you master the skills, it's not hard to earn more than 100 multiplier.

Also, if you knocked down an enemy (he's lying on the ground with stars around his head), punch some other enemy before punching this knocked down one.

I will say that, I've had my combo ruined quite a few times because a) he would punch air even though I was aiming at somebody or b) because he punched a shield guy even though that person was clearly behind the me. Personally I think the combat is just slightly screwed up in this one, I've never been amazing at Arkham's combat, but I've always known when it was my fault.

It is doable, it's just that Origins is a lot more unforgiving than AA and AC ever were. With that being said, you're still going to miss more than the other two games.

Remember that you have to be in a combo to zip over to an enemy, so if you get hit or wait too long, throw a gadget to start up the combo again. It's not a particularly forgiving game, so you will find yourself missing now and again if an enemy is off-screen.
