PhysX Settings.
I have GTX 590 and i can't set PhysX on High for some reason. Is there any way to force it?
Latest drivers installed and GPU is selected as PhysX processor. Also, i can choose High in multiplayer, but looks like it doesn't count.

Have you checked in your NVidia Control Panel too? Maybe it's locked out in there somehow...? Not sure though. Usually the in-game menu changes fine.
Checked one more time... looks like everything is fine there. And i can set High in Arkham City without any problems.

Are you running the game in DX10 instead of 11? What OS are you using?

I still don't have a clue why PHYSX can't be set to different settings. Even my old GTX 470 could bet set to High in games... Just weird.

Even geforce.com's breakdown of cards shows a 590 listed as having High settings...

Windows 7, and all settings on max with DX11.

Have you tried to do a clean install of the latest drivers?

I copied this from TomsHardware:

Uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers is the best option, then making sure that the Nvidia Control Panel is configured properly>Auto (recommended)

ALSO: Make sure you are playing a PhysX game, and that Hardware Physics is enabled in the game settings.

To verify that PhysX acceleration is enabled and working

From the NVIDIA Control Panel navigation tree pane, under 3D Settings, select Set PhysX configuration.

From the menu bar, click 3D Settings, then click the drop-down menu item Show PhysX Visual Indicator.

At the corner of the game screen, the text "PhysX>GPU" or "PhysX>CPU" indicates the type of PhysX acceleration the game is using. If no text appears, then the game is not using PhysX acceleration.

I'm running out of options why certain features aren't working. Maybe verify game cache? At this point, I don't know if I'd mess with my BatmanArkhamOrigins installation though; not with all the other problems floating around out there; just my opinion. Just out of curiosity, have you poked around in your bmengine.ini file to see if there's any mention of PhysX settings in there? Maybe one is "locked out"...?
Well, i've just checked and i have "PhysX>GPU" text. And about config file, yes, there is some physx settings, i tried to change them, but it didn't help too (though it changed to High in Multiplayer).
Thanks anyway, i'll try to do this thing with clean install later, maybe this will help.

All signs point to the driver installation, honestly. I hope that's what it is. Hope you get it sorted.
I've made a full and clean driver installation and the PhysX working just fine now. Thank you very much.

Excellent. At least we know we're not crazy now. Those problems that seem to happen with no apparent reason or explanation are some of the hardest to track down.

After reading through this discussion and after a clean instal of the nvidia driver, I still can't set physix to high in batman arkham origins. My spec; intel core i7 4960x @ 3.60Ghz, 2x Nvidia Geforce 970 in SLI ( geforce 970 1 is set as a physix GPU).
