Lady Shiva glitch?

I have tried setting my Launch Options with -d3d9, but despite my best efforts, I am unable to counter the initial strike of Shiva and her ninjas.

I understand that I need to press counter for all of the ninjas, and I have done so successfully in Arkham City. But, for whatever reason, the command does not seem to work here.

I have a different glitch; I succesfully countered the initial blow and did not get hurt. I however, did not get the achievement. :(

Try simply spamming your counter key/button repeatedly until the strikes land.

I have blocked every initial ninja strike, and blocked all but just a couple of Shiva's during the subsequent fights, but I'm assuming you have to counter EVERY single strike from the beginning all the way through the fights, or you won't get the achievement. That's pretty hard to do.

My problem is not that I don't know how to get the achievement. I am more than able to fight Shiva without taking any damage after that first hit.

My problem is that the game does not register my attempt at countering Shiva and her ninjas when they strike me at the beginning. I can press the button about three times before they decide to hit me as if I am not attempting to counter, which is not what happened when I would do it against Ra's al Ghul in Arkham City.

Somebody else was having that problem too. I think they had to plug in a controller to get it to work correctly. The other user said that if five ninjas attacked, they could only get one counter (the first) to work in a fight. He couldn't get the counters to work even by forcing the game to launch in DX9 mode, which helped a few people. No matter what he did, pressing counter would only register that first time. Until he hooked up a controller. Stinks.

^^^^ M&K is buggy apparently, according to other threads and the most recent patch has made it more so. I used a controller for all Batman games (it's better controls in this kind of game) and to make sure you don't get hit by those first ninja's is a case of "hammering the 'y' button" until it's done.

If you're hunting for that achievement it's tough to get and took me a few restarts. But I seriously recommend an xbox controller if you can lay your hands on one. To get the achievement (and it was only about 1.9% of player who had got it when I got it) you have to not get hit by anything or anyone. Not the ninjas, not Shiva and definitely not those muppet martial artist. Judiscious use of QT gadgets are also recommended if you can get those involved in your fight.

Okay, so I adjusted my settings to be -ded9 and erased my BMEngine.ini file.

But now, Shiva instead of attacking from the air with all of the ninjas at the beginning, comes out of the floor in some kind of graphical glitch and kicks me in the back of the head when I'm trying to do the counter.

I have this exact same glitch, tried to change my graphic sittings with no luck
