Trouble with Firefly
Hello,

I am having trouble beating Firefly. I dodge the flamethrower and then throw the glue grenade...hit him with a bunch of Batarangs...do it again and hit him with the Batclaw. The problem comes when I try to "reel him in"...no matter how I tap the space bar (fast, slow, different speeds) the claw releases and I have to start over with the glue grenade. I can never get past this step.

So, of course, I am wondering if there is a trick to the space bar pattern or if there is some problem/bug I'm fighting.

Thanks for any help!!!

Ctrl button releases the BatClaw, make sure you're not accidentally hitting it.

Thanks for the response Jono....definitely not hitting the control button! I've gotten so frustrated that I am hitting the spacebar without touching any other keys at all.

I use XBox gamepad. When I reach the Firefly battle tomorrow I'll try it solely with keyboard, see if I can make any recommendations.

I use KB+mouse myself and have not experienced this issue.
I have two suggestions:

If you have a game controller connected at all, disconnect it.
try rebinding your keys.

Thanks Buck.

I do not have any other controllers attached and the spacebar works properly everywhere in the game.

Are you just pressing the spacebar as fast as you can or does it need to be slower than that?

I understand that it might work everywhere else, but simply rebinding the key can't hurt anything.

you just need to tap it repeatedly. use about the same rate you used for pulling off grates and whatnot.

OK...I rebound the space bar but that didn't do it. So I added an alternate (the "." key) and then it worked!! Guess my space bar isn't consistent for some reason.

But thank you Buck...you got me looking in the right direction.

Oh...and now I've noticed that I can get out of some thug attacks I couldn't before. The space bar thing was causing me more problems than I realized. Time for a new keyboard I guess...

hhmm.
Do you tend to hold down multiple keys at once?
Some keyboards simply cannot accept more than 2-3 key inputs at the same time. This is a problem I had with certain cheap logitech keyboards i've owned. Maybe that might explain why the space bar wasn't working as expected for you?
