something lacking about this game compare to Arkham City
the lack of riddler trophies (for those unexpected surprise - they add to your XP pool so it's still welcomed), difference in design, dialogue, story is so apparent in my first 1 hour into the game. A few things I've disliked so far: map is way more linear now after the removal of riddles and city environment, killer croc's size seems to have shrunk down (compare to his version in Asylum), the bat-plane is just ugly.. doesn't seem like a batmobile.. the dialogues.. ughh who wrote the scripts?

made me miss Arkham City a lot. That was a much better made game. So obvious to me that a different developer/team made this game. Heck, I can even say that Arkham Asylum is better made than this game. The feel is so different. Don't think I could push myself to finish this one. Is like I've experienced all the best that a person can in Arkham City.. only to be downgraded for a lesser experience in Origins.

srsly. Arkham Asylum and City is all we need... lets hope Arkham Knight doesn't dissapoint since the same devs have returned to complete the 3 part franchise. I don't think I can ever include Arkham Origins as one of them. It might look good and all but it's nowhere near as good as City.

Honestly I was having fun up until it was The Joker.

AGAIN. Yes blah blah blah he's Batman's rival. So what?

Can someone else take center stage for once? Batman doesn;t fight the frickin' Joker EVERY EPISODE.

Origins wasn't even planned in the first place. It's just that Rocksteady spent 4 years on Arkham Knight and WB Games Montreal made this game as a filler. It doesn't have riddler trophies but you have to consider that it's a prequel and there's no Riddler yet, just Enigma who doesn't leave riddles/clues yet. There are extortion files though. As for Croc, it's said in Asylum that he wasn't born this way, he has a desease that made him look more and more like a crocodile so it fits that he doesn't look like in Asylum or City. As for Batwing, to me it looks badass. Looks more like a plain and less like a drone. But Origins' main problem that it has too much continuity errors with Asylum.

Knight, you can start a new game with all 13 Combat and Armor Upgrades plus 5x Combo Boost, and perhaps a few gadget upgrades. If you haven't gotten to it yet, Challenge Maps XP carry over into the main game (finally!!) Open the Challenge Maps before even beginning the main game and 100% them as best as possible, starting with the Bruce Wayne Initiation campaign to open those campaigns and maps for Batman and Deathstroke. After you finish the Challenge Maps, make a save and begin your games from that file. You will have more than adequate XP budget for the remainder of the game.

i have to start all over again?

could i do the challenge maps and then go back to the saved campaign? it does bring over the XP and unlockables right?

No you don't have to start over. My comment above was a suggestion for new games in the future. As a matter of fact, I'd recommend doing Challenge Maps and Campaigns now to build up your XP budget, because those as-yet unlocked upgrades will only become more expensive and attained farther apart later in the game.

Also, this game is similar to Arkham City in that there's a comparable voiceover prompt ruse: "I need to get to Jezebel Plaza..." in Arkham Origins is the same as Arkham City's "I need to get to Catwoman now!" No you don't to both. In City I would 100% every open world fight using the occasional gathered Riddler Trophy as a checkpoint and start the Bane mission early. By the time I got to Catwoman at the Courthouse I had all Batman's and Catwoman's available combat and gadget upgrades, saving the armor upgrades until after rescuing Catwoman. Then I'd start my future games from that XP-maxed save.

Same thing in this game. Upgrade up as best and as early as possible and do the Challenge Maps to help max out your XP budget early in the game, and get as much accomplished before even scoping Jezebel Plaza.
