Endless falling glitch

So I got this game yesterday and I managed to get all the way to the boiler room of the Final Offer and then I go through this door and then everything disappears except for Batman. I tried restarting from the last checkpoint but that made it worse. Batman just falls into and endless black nothing. Anyone else having this problem?

Disable DX11. Commonly known as the Copperhead Elevator Crash, it also possibly affects other areas, such as My Alibi and/or the Bridge. Procedure as follows:

1. Find file BmEngine.ini in your Batman Arkham Origins folder: C: \ Steam \ SteamApps \ common \ Batman Arkham Origins \ SinglePlayer \ BMGame \ Config \ BmEngine.ini
2. open file "BmEngine" with notepad
3. locate "AllowD3D11=True" and change it to False
4. locate "AllowD3D10=False" and change it to True

Also, disable PhysX. Main Menu, Optiions, Graphics Options. Another thing to remember is not to rush the doors; wait a moment for the textures to load on a opposite side of a wall upon entering rooms. Let us know your progress.

I did everything you said, but it didn't fix it. I start Story and immediately start falling. Am I going to have to restart my game?

Did you restart your computer to let the alterations set?

This happened to me in GCPD, right after picking up the disruptor. I went to go back to the cells and whamo!

I actually fixed it by maxing out my graphics options in the game options, then all came good. I didn't even have to restart the game.

JonoAMano: I did everything you said and it kind of worked. I started a new save file and the cut scenes actually worked and I got past the point I got stuck at. However, it did the exact same glitch a few minutes later. I think I'm just gonna give up and go play Arkham City again.

Is your game patched?:
Steam Updates (Patches) and Verify Integrity of Game Cache.
1. From the game Library, right-click Properties, then Updates to Allow Background Downloads.
2. From the game Library, right-click Properties, then Local Files and Verify Integrity of Game Cache.

Having performed that, have you tried the F1 teleport fix?:

2. Copy this file for safekeeping
3. Open "BmInput" with Notepad
4. Find the last line in [Engine.PlayerInput] that reads: Bindings=(Name="TAB", Command="OpenLevelUpOrMap")
5. Paste the following after the last line:
Bindings=(Name="F1", Command="start batentry?Area=OpenWorld?Players=Playable_Batman?unlockall")
6. Save file
7. Start the game
8. At freefall or black room, press fn + F1. Keyboard must have "fn" key in order to teleport Batman to safety.

If that fails add me, we'll trade email addresses via Steam chat, and then send me your save. I've performed numerous My Alibi freefall rescues; I want to take a shot at yours. I also need to know the exact point and the exact room you fell through the floor, so enter the game and check the map so we can have that info ready. Saved game files typically found here:

I tried everything and I am still stuck. I was in the Final Offer and I entered the room with the Predator Challenge right before I enter Penguin's office. Thank you for spending so much time helping me. I really appreciate it.

I didnt fall at first. It started out where the room when black but I could still walk around on invisible platforms. But then when I got shot and killed it restarted from the checkpoint and then I started falling.

Its so ridiculous that theres so many crashes that happen so often they have fancy names...

No offense but it has to be something with your system. This game is running great for me with no issues at all.

Old thread, I got the OP out of there back in May. Disabling DX11 from the BmEngine.ini seems to fix many texture bugs with the game.

I had the same thing happen to me! It happened at the same place too! I wasn't able to fix it but I just made another file and started again.

Try to delete (make a backup first) the "BmEngine.ini".
This fixed the glitch for many people.
