Origins may be the "first" in chronological order but playing the other 2 before that makes more sense.
Also there is a pretty natural increase in scope, size, complexity of game mechanics and number of enemies encountered at the same time throughout the series.
There are also references from the later games to the earlier (Origins actually reuses much of City's map, only with snow and not so run down) you might miss if you play out of order.
And there are continuity issues (gadgets in Asylum vs. gadgets in Origins) that are much more obvious when playing out of order.
