Replaying it now and i have not experienced any of the stuff i used to. Combat works as expected, the map is all solid with no soft spots, the AI isn't running into walls or getting stuck, the cutscenes are perfect and the frame rate seems to be staying at around 47-59 for me (running the benchmark)
So in my honest opinion, most of the games severe, gamebreaking flaws have been dealt with, it's well worth a purchase.
-Killer Croc Flashes & No Sound (When you Batarang the explosive he starts flashing & all sound goes off. Pausing the game will fix it.)
-Flying & randomly stuck in mid air (Diving fixes it)
-Enemies stuck in walls. (During the Deadshot bossfight especially. A batarang to the face fixes it.)
-Clipping through walls. (In the church during the Black Mask sidequest part of the church is just missing & you can climb through it.)
-Enemies will sometimes see you through walls (Rare. I've had it only a few times.)
-Can't interrogate suspects. (Restart)
-Can't scan evidence. (Restart)
Problems I've experienced?
-Long Load times (Around 2 minutes. This is ESPECIALLY annoying during bossfights because every time I fail I have to wait 2 minutes to try again.)
-Grapple points you can't climb in certain spots.
-Poorly placed camera angles in some areas (Enemies will go off camera & hit you where you can't see them)
-Combat can be choppy at times (When doing a combo, sometimes batman will just stop suddenly for no reason.)
-Targeting Map Icons is twitchy difficult.
-HUGE FPS drop in Black Gate (End Game).
-Stuttering
I'm enjoying the game but these things can be frustraiting at times. It's almost like this game is a BETA. It's really buggy...
Have about 5-6hours into it so far now without any problems at all *fingers crossed*
1) Sometimes, texts appearings aren't showed and instead show their stings (things like "name_id_description_02")
2) On Multiplayer, I went in a game which nobody had any weapon except for one player which nobody could see. (Possible hacker or massive big desync with the server... strange thing thought is I could see other member in my team doing things normally without rubberbanding or anything. They just didn't had any guns nor could shoot.)
But then again I get 112 frames per second in the benchmarks, so stutter and lag aren't an issue for me...
Generally speaking though, I wouldn't say it's buggy.
The biggest actual glitches I have found is that during combat the game clock will often speed up and slow down. One moment the fight is going at normal speed, and the next it is going 2x speed. When this happens it catches you off guard and kills your combo.
I loved Arkham City and played it on hard. It was challenging, but the combat was well refined and you could get better at dealing with the great numbers and variations of enemies that you faced. So far with Origins I have been mostly frustrated unfortunately.
The only bug I noticed and it happens often is batman spining while hovering with cape.
Also 1 time the game froze and pc restarted but it was 1 time and I cannot tell 100% that it was caused by the game itself, but who knows.
If you plan to focus on singleplayer, then this is my experience:
I have only had one mayor crashbug/game-breaking-bug, but I could fix that by making the game run on DX10 rather than DX11 - my aging computer liked that a lot, and stuttering and frame rate drops all but disappeared.
As for gameplay, if you played the two previous game in the series, you are in for a shock, as the combat system is wonky and insecure rather than millimetre precise.
The story is OK and fit the developers idea of a "year two Batman", so well known villains aren't as developed as in the previous games/the graphic novels/the movies.
This game introduces more variations in boss fights and overall requires more variation in your tactics and playstyle for beating the game.
It takes getting used to, but after a winter hiattus, I find I actually like the game, not least because some of the most annoying problems in the gameplay have been smoothed out via patches.
I find the game better than average, but it is no masterpiece - too many technical problems for that.
It is an entertaining, occasionally humorous, and sometimes frustrating, but OK game.
