Optimization/performance compared to Arkham City?
I'm just wondering whether people here feel like this game runs comparatively as well as Arkham City on a PC of similar specs, or if it's more graphically demanding. My laptop has an NVIDIA GT 330M, which I know is rather low end, but I was amazed at how great Arkham City looked on it and how smoothly it ran.

Think I can expect a similar performance from Origins, or am I asking too much?

Arkham Origins has working DX11 which City never had. I don't know if your GPU is supported but it may be worth downloading the Geforce experience to optimise your settings. Also there's a site called can you run it -- http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri --- which is pretty good at letting you know what's what.

Well, I can tell you that City ran a little bit better for me, so I had to tone down the graphics a notch to get a stable 60 fps. It still looks great though even though I am not playing at the highest settings.

Okay, thanks for the responses. I'll try the CYRI site when I have a chance. I'll probably go ahead and nab the game anyway-- even if it doesn't run super great on my laptop I'm hoping to get a better gaming desktop when I can afford one.

It works just fine for me.

"optimizers" like the GF experience or AMD's Gaming Evolved are silly and pointless. It's just someone's opinion. What's "optimal" to one person may not necessary seem so to another.

In my experience AO runs and performs roughly the same. ymmv.

Correct and incorrect. It is not someone else's opinion. Optimizers that have cloud functionality scan your hardware and according to similiar specs that have been stored, it chooses the settings that provide the most stable fps. You will then have to re-tweak it because each computer is unique and behaves differently.

Maybe you think it's the game causing the problem, and not the settings that you have maximized because you think your computer is too 'godlike'. Cloud optimizers basically kick your ego down to the appropriate level if it's obvious that your computer can't handle the graphics. Usually, people notice a tremendous fps increase in such cases.

To hobbyists, optimizers are essentially useless because we manually do the tweaking ourselves. For casuals and people who only care about games, an optimizer is a nice complement.

Much better than Arkham City on my 780.

Yeah, the NVIDIA Experience optimization thing doesn't like my GPU so I can't use it, but I'm pretty used to adjusting settings manually. I don't remember Arkham City even having any graphics options in the game, but whatever settings it autodetected or whatever on my laptop looked great and I didn't really ever get any noticeable slowdown. Does Origins have graphics settings in-game?

In my experiance it runs better and looks better than city, not a massive difference but very noticeable

Very good optimized. Only times it drops FPS when u get in one of thoose predator rooms. Then it can tank

I have GeForce GTX Titan Z. Will I be able to run this on low settings? =)

@ O/P - The graphics options are in-game, yes, unlike the previous Arkham games which had external options.

The game runs a lot smother then city, then again it does make considerably kess use of physX (which I did find to be a bit much in City).
