Intiation DLC problem
Hey all, I'm currently in the challenge map where firefly's bombs are as Intiation Bruce Wayne, and one of the medals is to use that bomb to takedown, I can't figure it out.

I'm not famaliar with that specific challenge, but are you sure it doesn't mean Bruce's Kajuki (or however you spell it?) Bomb gadget?

No, it does mean the kujiki bomb. Can't do it, won't work.

Map: Wrecking Crew
Medal: Vahish
Use the Kujiki Bomb and perform a takedown on an ememy.

I'll admit that I don't fully understand how the Kujiki bomb works. I wish I had a better understanding of it. I got right in front of a guy, snapped a Kujiki bomb, then got behind him (he was stunned and wouldn't turn to follow me) and did a silent takedown.

There are probably other methods, such as dropping into a floor grate and then doing a grate takedown.

I tried doing it several more times and met with mixed results. My guess is you must be close enough to the guy when you do it, and perform the takedown while still "invisible" from the bomb.

Tried that plenty of times, still didn't work. And then the map after it, says use it then do a smash takedown. The hell's a smash takedown?

not bad....

Smash takedown is when you hit the melee button during a silent takedown to quickly, but loudly, knock out your target.

I'm not sure, but I think he has to actually see you before you use the bomb for it to work? Then sneak around behind him right after and take him out.

Confirmed, that's how you get the Tempest medal. Was hit-or-miss, as with Vanish.

By the way, you just inspired me to write my first Steam guide, on Initiation Bruce Wayne. Sadly, it does not address difficulties getting Kujiki Bomb takedown medals.

Okay, I finally figured it out! I've updated my guide with tips about Kujiki Bomb, and I pretty much have a 100% success rate now. You don't need to be close to enemies when using the Kujiki Bomb... you can use it from far away and you'll be invisible to them for several seconds. Just make sure you don't grapple or use any other actions before you do the Takedown. This includes Countering, which is the same button as Takedown, so it's extra important to be sure you're in position before hitting that button.

Because you're invisible to them, you can even do the Takedown from in front of them.

You don't have to be seen first and can do it from behind or in front. But with Tempest you need to do a smash takedown (loud silent takedown, that is), but for Vanish a smash takedown won't work. It has to be silent.

What I don't understand is all these videos that show guys using the K-bomb on the run. When I try, he always comes to a dead stop as soon as he throws. Is there a quickfire for it? Because I can't find one.

Around 3 years late, my friend.

It's never too late for this game. I don't know how many times I've played it through, and I only recently got the DLC myself, so I left this comment for other late comers.

I think it's left trigger + X on a controller, same as Batman's explosive gel. I'll confirm this if I remember to do so when I am home.

Confirmed. On a keyboard, it's the same hotkey that is bound to "gadget 5."
