I kinda got that. Thanks for necroing a 6 year old thread just to weigh in.
Those Brady guides should only be used for familiarization. Because Origins recycles some architectural assets from City I think the authors tended to get a little confused in some places.
If you wanted an easy Anarky - Pinkey location guide, you only had to ask. Also includes Anarky tag locations for Cold Cold Heart, including compass points:

Note: when you get the final location marker to conclude the Pinkney mission, be certain to highlight the marker in Burnley, otherwise if you enter the finale location without highlighting you will miss out on 50,000 XP. I found out the hard way during rank-up prior to Jezebel Plaza.
while i've got you here, the Sodar... Soda... Soder Cola building Riddler Data Pack... Bowery... File #3-5. dam thing is up on a pyramid shaped peak/tower/point/topper on the skyscraper. that's the only one i can't reach. i've got every single other 'goody' in the game except for 'kaboom sonic boomerang' since i STILL suck at Predator Encounters and Worst Nightmare is the only one in the system i didn't max out. i tried what the Brady Book says, come out of the Bowery Batwing Fasttravel Point Dive, Glide, turn right, line up with the Cola Building, do one dive to pickup speed/altitude, and land on the ledge with the Datapack. problem is, DOESN'T DAMN WORK! when i line up with the street the Cola Building is on, and pullup, i CRASH into the covered streets with the beautiful paned glass roofs! i can't pull up in time out of the Batwing Dive! this is a Datapack i need Catwoman for, but she's not in Origins! bah humbug! i've tried everything, even Batclaw Boost from the neighboring square skyscraper with the four gargolyes that's ALMOST tall enough to give me enough height, but even with a short second or two dive i STILL smack into the Cola Building's pyramid top instead of reaching the ledge. double bah humbug! the game devs SERIOUSLY made that one Datapack TOO HARD! you should be able to Grapple up to that damn ledge from the one immediately below it on the Cola Building. i installed Ark Knight last night and am less than 1 hour away from finishing a day long DL of the game disks' updates. yes my DSL is THAT slow, my DL is only 2mb/s. when that DL finishes i'll check YourTub for some walkthroughs and see where i'm effing it up for that Datapack. :D if i don't find any good vids i'll check back here while setting up Knight and see if you've got a solution for me.
thanks again Jono, i liked the 'reused' but not 'crappy looking' locations in Origins vs City. one BIG ONE i saw, the Cathedral Interior Predator Room. the viewpoint perches, they were wolves/dogs in Origins but i thought they were birds/eagles etc. in City. plus there was more perches and the door to the Bell Tower wasn't there, they put a wall with arched openings right there. :D i LOVED THE GIANT SHRIMP/PRAWN Perches in one Predator Room. i failed that one and was 'noticed' because i forgot the central pillar perches were boobytrapped with explosives and only the outer ring of perches were safe. the only Predator Room i got 100% on was the huge one inside Blackgate Prison, i took TWO hours on that one. basically sat inside the walls' HVAC ducts and waited for prisoners to come to me one at a time during their patrols for Silent Takedowns. i boobytrapped one breakable wall with the Exploding Gel. i was hiding inside the walls watching the sniper in that room trying to figure out his patterns. so, i forgot i had that ProxSens upgrade and when a guy walked past the wall i almost fell out of my office chair from the surprise explosion. heh!
So you can get and maintain adequate elevation, you might want to invert your flight controls from inside the Game Options menu for this one DataPack so you can "pull back on the stick" just like an airplane. You have to do a similar maneuver to collect the DataPack atop the Bowery GCR Tower, as you can't grapple directly to the top of that structure.
Ah, the predator Bridge Boiler Room and its little surprise booby-traps. I feel that the Origins predator rooms are the best of the Arkham series; you can get really inventive and max out those rooms with multiple variations without being seen. If you're doing Worst Nightmare 06 from inside the Blackgate Prison Nexus you can do a Vent Takedown first on the lower level, scoot through the lower ducts to safety, grapple up to a vantage point to do a Corner Takedown on the sniper as your second room takedown, then finish Hanging Ledge Takedown and Exploding Wall Takedown without the sniper pressuring you and still finish the room unseen.
Review my guide and any attending links that direct to other procedures for specific tasks. It includes workarounds for WN 06 at the Bank; freeroam workarounds for WN 07; multiple opportunities for doubling up on tasks within the same freeroam or predator room scenario so as not to waste a single predator room; and secondary opportunities in case of messing up a prevous room or scenario.
In order to eliminate those blown opportunities, start making backups of your .sgd save files prior to or immediately upon entering a WN predator scenario, and keep them in separate numbered folders so you can return to a previous predator location if needed. I do that just so I can replay a particular room just for fun. Your .sgd save files are here:
Steam \ userdata \ Steam User Number \ 209000 \ remote
ahahhh! saving files seperately to get around 'completed room' oopsies! :O gah! never heard of it! :O so if i do say, a 'new game' startup from scratch in Origins, is the file directory 'subnamed' Origins or is that the 'item number' 209000? since i'll have all 4 Arkham games on one PC? do you happen to have the other 3 Arkham games' 'item numbers' handy so i don't eff-up THOSE files if i try this with them? ok, so i make a copy of that .sgd file in a 'new folder' INSIDE the \userdata location? or inside the \remote location? and how do i access that 'specific cheat save' .sgd file instead of the 'standard one' the game will want to use? just click on my 'cheat save' file and Steam miraculously knows to open the game at THAT particular savepoint/checkpoint in-game? i've got a smidge of 'code-monkey' knowledge with programming, but mostly enough to get me in trouble with the real deal coders. ;) i've even been snidely nicknamed 'that damn shaved code-monkey' by IT and Communications folks i've worked with in the Army. especially since i kept giving them 'banana themed snacks' like bananas and 'nanner nut muffins. :D :D :D bwahahahaha! >;-D
hahah! how did you know i 'collect' game books? hahah! i've got them for every Assassin's Creed, The Witcher, and now all 4 books for BMArkham. ;) i even get the 'special edition/collector' version (ESPECIALLY if it's hardback!) if i can find one. unfortunately the only 'collector edition' one i could find for the Arkham series was a SERIOUSLY overpriced by some nutjob online that wanted over $200 for it. ESPECIALLY for the ones in the AC and Witcher franchises. the art they included in those books, awesome! :D i even got the Witcher3 book with 2 big posterboard printed art pieces i'm going to frame myself when i get some extra $$$ built up in my 'gamer geek decor' line-item in my monthly budgets. plus i've got old movie posters to frame up from every one of the 'TimBurton' Batmen? Batmens? how do you pluralize multiple Batman movies? :/ hmm!? although i skipped the ValKilmer posters. bleck. liked the movie, hated the posters. but i did love the one i got with Clooney, Arnold(i NEVER try spelling his last name :P), Silverstone, and O'Donnell.
oh! that reminds me! Mark Hammil, and Kevin Conroy?! WHY did they replace B.Wayne and Joker's (voice actors)VA's???!!?? for Origins!?! WAUGH! :(( i've loved those guys since i was younger and started watching Batman Animated on Kids' WB years n years ago! but am i wrong, for Asylum, City, and Origins they KEPT RIDDLER's VA.... John Wingert? Winger? i can never remember all their names who've played Riddler. he sure as hell sounded the same to me as i was playing Origins. i've watched a ♥♥♥♥-ton of US cartoons my whole life (and anime since 1990) both in English and Japanese so i'm VERY sensitive to changes in voice actors and casting. :> did they bring back the Asylum/City cast for Knight? i know 'u know who' died in City, but they used Arleen Sorkin for Ms. Quinn in the first 2, and i'm kinda sorta certain they kept her for Origins?
how's the BradyGames book for Knight? i've barely cracked the cover. hopefully better than the Origins one. ;)
i decided to get the 'full monty' SeasonPass for Knight and play around with all it's goodies. . . why Steam included that Harley Quinn DLC for free i've not a clue. i just got the regular old disks version on Amazon without all the 'goodies' since i figured i'd pick and choose which ones to snatch up on Steam. plus it was only $20 and i figure i'll need the extra 'practice' with the Knight Batmobile. looks damn complicated in the BG Book. :O
anywhoo, i'll quit chewing your ear off. :D
ttfn, and thanks for all the help!

Otherwise, the Arkham game app numbers are as follows:
Asylum - 35140
City - 200260
Knight - 208650
Origins - 209000
No, save those backup copies OUTSIDE of your Usedata \ Remote folder so you don't confuse your PC. Copy them to a flash drive or into a desktop folder for easy reference and access. I usually number my playthrough folders by WN task milestones, since those are the least repeatable. If you do fubar any particular predator room, quit the game and copy a save from your manual backups, then paste that save file into your Remote folder I defined in comment #8, 5th paragraph.
Side note: speaking of paragraphs, type smaller ones so it makes for more efficient reading. Not a slam, I have remind myself of this as I tend to get overly-detailed.
If you use recent versions of Windows 10 you should be able to delete your primary .sgd save and drop a swapped save into the Remote folder and go from there. However, if you use Windows 7, 8, 8.1 or early editions of Windows 10 you'll need to retain the original goofed .sgd playthrough save file, then drop a swapped save directly into the Remote folder in order for the swapped save to overwrite the old one. Slight differences in file handling in W10, go figure.
As for the voices I'll have to admit (cue the hate comments) that I'm not "married" to the Animated Series voices in the same way that numerous ardent fans are. Origins is a grittier story than Asylum and City, so I welcomed a more realistic change so I felt I was playing through a motion picture, not a family-friendly cartoon. Also, many of those actors were contractually obligated to Arkham Knight so WBM culled from whatever voice talent best suited their vision, and I feel it paid off wonderfully instead of cartoon voiceovers pulling me out of story immersion.
Back to topic, I never bought the Brady guide for Knight; as a matter of fact, I sold off my Brady guides after 100%ing all achievements each previous game. Since I never actually read it, I would advise using Brady's Knight guide with a generous pinch of salt and rely on Steam discussions and your own best instincts. From personal experience I would advise getting Batmobile camera view out of vanity mode and into 1st person mode for best racing results.
Off topic, I started flying when I was 15: Cessna 150s and 152s; Piper Cubs and Cherokees. I switched majors in the 1980s so I never soloed or licensed. I might add that to my bucket list.
i slapped around the NPCs in Combat Training medals for the final bit (not the Black Mask stuff, pththt :p not interested in buying those) tonight and tried Combat Challenges some more, ow ow ow owww, sore hands! gah, mobs and mobs of NPCs to smack around. aggrivating my Nintendo-nitus. :>
got that last Datapack with two tries. seriously i feel udderly like a stupid cow now! hahhahah! and opened Enigma's secret room. a trophy. :p pththt, what a let down for a secret room. i got the bonus points but not 'collecting Wayne Tech Upgrade Points' since i've got em all. unless there's more gadgets/combat upgrades in the two DLC i'm pulling down now?
the Alfred Talks? does the DLC complete those or did i miss some in Main Story?
newp, i'm on Win7. it's a smidge dinosaur-ific of a laptop, but as long as i fiddle delicately with game specs everything doesn't have a nuclear meltdown.
if you're ever in Georgia and wanna try for that solo and suchforth i can check with my uncle, he still teaches periodically... ;) he's even more semi-retired than i am... so he only teaches when there's 'students stacked up' at the school he's buddies with the owner. either that or my uncle and aunt want a lil extra extra $ for something. he's probably going to be, or already did get grounded though. too much hearing damage and i don't think his hearing aids will compensate for much longer before the FAA medicals clip his wings.
does the WorstNightmare keep going for 'Initation' and 'ColdColdHeart'? if so i may be able to get a lil higher. i found out i still need the last stage of... the one on the far left, Protector? the combat one, like a combo of x50 or something and 17 variations or some such impossible #? it's too damn bad the Devs didn't let the CHALLENGES meet those requirements. :p pththth! bad game devs, bad bad!
i guess yep, i'm definitely 'married' to that acting talent. when i think BM n Joker that's the voices in my head. :> i even remember when Hamill (and bought it on DVD) was The Trickster on 'The Flash' back in the 90's. :> i even cackled my ass off when 'Smallville' Lex Luthor Rosenbaum got 'Justice Leage' animated's Flash. :D i still even think Tim Daly as C.Kent for Supes Animated was a damn good choice. i'd have gone with Dean Caine, but hahah! Daly did a great job. :>
Worst Nightmare tasks are attainable in-game only. From your description you're probably referencing Shadow Vigilante rank 15. I've been at this a while, so these days I usually get SV 12-15 in that large Sheldon Park group encounter after unlocking Critical Strikes with Lady Shiva in Wonder Tower. As for the game rankup layout, upon repeat playthroughs you may in time come to appreciate the departure from established procedure. You're playing as a younger, raw, and extremely headstrong Batman, but you can't take your status for granted as yet because at this point you're still a cypher, even to yourself. This game above all others is the one where you really have to earn your wings as both combatant and predator, nor can you expect to simply purchase certain upgrades from accrued XP points. Also has the most uplifting epilogues of the series, both in the main game and in the Mr. Freeze DLC.
I didn't say I didn't like the cartoon voices, I merely feel that the Origins voices are a welcome departure from those established voices. This is a much grittier story than the cartoons allowed for, so I felt the alternate voice actors were far more appropriate to the characters. But, this is one of those "agree to disagree" opinions. I do agree that the various DCAU series all had terrific ensembles, not only for main characters but for the supporting cast as well: John Vernon (Boss Rupert Thorne), Malcolm McDowell (Merlyn the archer, Metallo), Dana Delaney (Lois Lane), Ed Asner (Granny Goodness), LeVar Burton (Lucius Fox), Michael Ironside, Tony Todd, and Andre Braugher (Darkseid), and many others too numerous to reference.
through the three games (so far) repeated internal Bruce monologues of 'I need to go do this now' did kinda sorta get me irritated from time to time when i was backtracking through a just completed 'new mission' to get Riddler/Enigma Items, or 'new gadget appeared' opportunities to 'open world roam'. although i know they're NEEDED to push players forwards into 'the next stage'. THOSE two problems, the monologues and the 'missed signposts' for content i chalk up to bad storyboarding, writing, and 'level/area designs' from the devs.
i've seen these problems with writing/planning SERIOUSLY in the ENTIRE Assassin's Creed franchise and The Witcher's first 2 games vs the 3rd. whereas the first 2 were nigh on 'linear scripted games' with area restrictions and 'damn you CAN'T go backwards!' moments. then CD ProjektRED goes and does W3 as a 'huge open world roam' game. the 'branching choices' in Witcher 1-3 i SERIOUSLY enjoyed and 'those type of issues' DEFINITELY needed detailed work that was superb in all 3 game-guides. i think Arkham (so far) could have used a good bit of that 'extra effort' from the script writers. having a moderately linear main plotline does keep a game progressing ever forwards. but using the 'choices have consequences' idea IS alot more realistic and i think a perfect fit for a Batman franchise.
but getting stuck INSIDE 'levels' in the Arkham games as i backtrack and revisit does irritate me. i know, 'blown up XYZ' is part of the progression for the games. but for all 3 games i've had at least a dozen 'i'm gonna throw my controller across the ROOM!' moments. luckily for me i don't have a wireless gamepad! :> heh, ESPECIALLY in City! argh! :<< the two times you go back into the Steel Mill with 'new gadgets' ESPECIALLY getting the Freeze Grenades upgrade! arrgh! the 'basement elevator'!!!! arrrgh! i got stuck there for almost a day before i figured out i needed to 'electronic gun' zap the elevator's motor TWICE in a row to get the elevator to go ALL THE WAY UP! hahaha! frustration overload!
oh geez the 'glue grenades' vs the 'freeze grenades' hahah! so damn lazybones of the devs, such blatant reuse of the 'same gadget with different name'. :> same City of Gotham, same buildings, same designs i LOVED that stuff. the lil bits different and similar i enjoyed. but the grenades! hahah! ahhh. side splitting moments for me.
i hope Knight keeps the 'crime scene/World's Greatest Detective' missions! that 'sci-fi criminology, psychology, and forensics stuff' was what i went to college for and one of the reasons i've liked Batman as a cerebral character and not just as a 'gadget using punch-em-out fisticuffs guy'. but the constant jokes about Bruce's 'plans within plans within schemes upon conspiracies' turning into 'plot armor' does make me chuckle myself into coughing fits.
i've enjoyed the portrayals in the DCAnimated Uni. for forever and a day and i kinda sorta agree, Origins felt like a departure 'from the norm' i'm used to. even with the Dark Knight comics 'reboot' the original BM Ani. used including Gothic Buildings and mixing up a giant dollop of Art Nuveau 1930's designs and 'film noir/gangster serials' character and plotline ideas. Origins did an interesting thing that i believe Tim Burton used with the 'through a mirror darkly' symmetry between Joker and Bruce. the 'i made you, you made me' realization scene between Nicholson and Keaton was CLASSIC to me. :D
at least nobody has used Todd McFarlane's 'Bat-cape that's drawn for miles' from his BM comics days. i saw that when he was working for DC and thought it was purely nuts and bonkers for the editors to allow. :>
thanks for the Anarchy tags. might mention that the final one inside the Royal Hotel parking lot is inaccessable before the 'get ahold of part #2 for the cryodrill' mission that happens inside that garage. :>
before you get the EX Batsuit, wow! hard! i had to work my butt off to finish each encounter with those cryogun guys! and Mr. Freeze was bad-ass yet again!
i thought throwing a 'smoke pellet' up into the central command post he stands on and grapneling to the 'generators' below him would work better than it did. it only worked well the first time i tried it, i guess the game devs gave him a pretty good AI for that trick. the sonic Batarang seemed to work pretty good too. "Go find out what that noise is!" hahah! i found out if you leave him just ONE crony/henchman he watches that guy go investigate the disturbance. i used every takedown possible and STILL had to fight him during the phase where he's actively hunting me like 10 times before i finished it off! i did find out that sneakily sliding into his feet from behind him does NOT work! the gas from his back defends him too strongly!
well my Knight DLC finally completed so i'm gonna get it booted up and fiddle with the graphics before i konk out for a few hours.
