I am the Night Mode
So Ive tried IATN mode 3 times and I keep dying in the dumbest ways (falling into jokers electro-bath, getting shot by 3 sniper simultaneously). I know you can restart from last checkpoint if you are in danger but I was wondering if anyone else had tips on completing it/ways to resume from a death. Anything really

i restart the whole IaTN mode twice(agaisnt bane on rooftop) before i can complete it.. take saome patience and you can do it... another way probably would be make a backup of your save files frequently. not sure how that works though but i think its possible to replace the save files since i saw many people sharing it since BAA..

Yeah, it's really easy to make backups of your saves, just in case. It's technically cheating though, so some will denounce you for it. I started making backups of my IATN saves though because the game would glitch and I'd die for the most ridiculous of reasons.

I setup a folder somewhere, say BMBackups, then in it I put a batch file with a simple XCOPY command like this, with 2 lines in it:
XCOPY d:\Steam\userdata\SteamID\209000\remote\spsave_v2_0.sgd d:\bmbackups\1001\
pause

The pause command is on the 2nd line, and it just keeps the little "DOS" window open until you press any key to close it. That just lets me see the file(s) that are copied and I make sure it says like "1 file copied" or whatever. If you don't have the pause command in there, the little window shuts instantly and you don't get to see if there are any problems.

I name the file HARDsave1stSLOT.bat, or something descriptive. And your paths maybe different too, depending on your Steam setup, and the number of the saves might change, depending on which slot you're currently using in the game. _0, 1, 2, 3 each correspond to Slot 1, 2, 3, 4.

Then, I keep the batch file open in a text editor, and each time I exit the game, I go to that open text document and change the 1001 to 1002, then 1003, 1004, each time like that and hit Save after updating of course, then I run the batch file. It automatically creates the next folder in sequence and drops the .sgd file into that folder. It's really easy after you do it a few times. Just don't forget to update the folder number in the batch file and hit Save of course.

Test it out to make sure you can save two or three of them in successively numbered folders before you rely on it though. One single letter out of place and it might not work like you need it to. Error testing and troubleshooting are required by us mortals, something that WB doesn't seem to like to do themselves. :-P

Let me help you with the snipers.

"One Per Zone" is a little threat reduction tactic many of us picked up in Arkham City. What you want to do is reduce the hazard potential to just one bad guy per action zone, always your least dangerous enemy. Do *not* eliminate all of them at those locations, otherwise they will all respawn and then you're back to square one.

If you're getting shot by 3 snipers I'm assuming this is Diamond District, where your BatWing LZ puts you pretty much directly in harm's way. As the game progresses, there's 3 Diamond District buildings with snipers: the GCR Tower (2 snipers, one gunman, one pipe carrier); Gotham City News (single sniper); and the unnamed hotel / lounge rooftop patio directly South of the Joker-damaged Ellsworth Building (1 sniper, two gunmen).

If you glide in from Coventry, start with the hotel/lounge guys, silently taking down the sniper and *only* one gunman. Then silently take down the lone sniper on Gotham City News. Then use Multi-Target Batarangs to stun the 2 snipers and single gunman on the GCR Tower. Take down the 3 firearmed henchman. Immobilize the pipe guy with Glue Grenade or Ultra Cape Stun; that's the man you don't want to touch. End result: a safer spawn point in Diamond District. You can then glide past single gunmen or unarmed or minimally armed henchmen with reduced concern for getting sniped at a distance.

This also works wherever you have multiple armed gunmen (non-snipers), reducing them to their lowest threat potential without concern of a mass enemy respawn. Examples: Gotham City Daily, Hamilton Hill (both Diamond and Burnley). Also works in other Districts.

Some of the snipers will respawn periodically in some locations after checkpointing anyway, such as Gotham News and the unnamed hotel/lounge. But with a reduced enemy profile, they'll be easier to either vanquish or avoid.
