Frustrated with Deathstroke fight...
I wanna give up on this game after only 6% completion cause of that damn Deathstroke bossfight. How many times must I retry and retry, give up, go online for tips, retry again, give up again, watch youtube for ideas, re-try again before finally giving up, cursing and swearing out loud that I'll never play this game again? I don't see why I should have to break my mouse and keyboard trying to defeat this f**ker. I abandonned Arkham City for the same reasons. At least though, that Joker boss fight was two thirds of the way into the game and I got to play a decent chunk of the game before hitting that particular wall! Endless repetition of the same scene with the same outcome is definitly not entertaining and so not fun. I have followed tips saying only to counter his attacks and only land a few blows here and there after each counter, but he always ends up getting enough whacks in to kill me anyway. The furthest I got is when Batman managed to grab his stick and break it. Then the guy pulled out a sword and I was dead soon after. I haven't got that far since. This could go on for days - that's if I don't just abandon it, which I'm thinking of doing. Talk about a pace killer.

Update: Finally. I got him first time after replaying on easy setting! He's a piece of cake on easy!

5 months? Wow! I'm sure there must be some kind of trainer available that gives Batman invincibility or something like that so we can get past this point. Or perhaps a saved game that we can use.

EDIT: I was half expecting a reply from some smart*** saying that they beat him first time without even trying that hard!

Right, it seems you may give up too easily, I have the achievement for the Deathstroke fight (defeated without taking damage) and I have a few tips.

One:- Get used to the quick-fire of the batclaw gadget for closing the gap between you and Deathstroke when he is far away from you. This will help you cover the distance and gives him a slight disorientation.

two:- When it comes to using the idicators above his head, there is a gradual increase in size and brightness of the indicator. Keep an eye out on it and try to judge your blocks for when his indicator is nearly at full size and brightness. Anytime before that will be judged as "the wrong timing" and therefore will give Deathstroke a hint as to when you're throwing your attacks. (The game gives this away very subtly in the quips that Deathstroke says)

three:- don't go out all blazing as Deathstroke is more a battle of counter, counter, hit, dodge. The timing is difficult to master but it's not as tough as Shiva later on in the game.

Four:- don't use trainers or other people's save games. The learning curve is worth paying attention to just for the sense of achievement. Deathstroke is meant to be an epic fight against someone at the peak of their game while you're using a Batman who is not at the Peak of his game. If you have difficulty with the Deathstorke fight you're in for trouble when you hit the later bosses. The bosses in this game are quite old school in the length of battles and knowing the games little hints on when to hit and when to counter/dodge. In all honesty, he's not the toughest boss of the game and if you're struggling with him you may find it difficult later on in the game to beat some of the other bosses.

Edit - one last tip - use a controller. this game is optimised for a controller as are most third person action games like this which are cross platform. Remember that being a PC player we have a larger array of HID's to choose from when it comes to controlling games like this. The Xbox 360 controller scheme for this game is actually quite good and logically set out and far easier than using a mouse and keyboard. You may sacrifice a little on how fast you can look about in the game but you'll gain in the attack and block side of things.

Um... This match was tedious, but... EASY? It's not braging or game pro talk. For me it was just boring and disappointing. Press RMB in right time, bash him, RMB, bash, RMB... It took me two or three tries without health upgrades. You need little timing and nothing more. There will be one or two 'real' boss fights (Copperhead, that was hard for me) that make you sweat.

Don't cheat.

Ok, thanks for all the help guys, especially 'jake' for his in-depth tips. From what I understand, patience, timing and countering are the key to beating this guy. A quick google also informed me that this is one of the toughest fights in the game. Phew! They wouldn't want to get any tougher and annoying than this now, would they. I'll persisit for now and try to get past him!

I don't understand the complaints about the Deathstroke fight: I never died against him once I've realized which moves land on him nicely and that was maybe 2 tries, on hard. Nem Game Plus? Same deal.

To me Bane was a lot harder, if I lose my rhytm he can still kick my a**.

from the metal plate i got in my hand till it is all fixed comes a terrible pain if i move or hold to strong but i willl try .
undamaged would be a different thing i guess.

Lol! Excuses, excuses! My hand ain't broke and I'm still stuck on it. I'm using mouse and keyboard. Deathstroke is a **** and his repetitive taunting is starting to get on my nerves - BIG TIME! I just want to continue the game.

Gonna try that. I'll see what happens.

No problem. By all means try to beat him with one hand. I still can't beat him with two hands working.

It isn't that difficult, if you are really having trouble make sure hints is enabled in the options menu. Counter at the right time, attack him and use the batclaw and slam him to the ground, if he connects you to a propane tank press counter just before it hits you.

Tried that, but he just gets wise to it after a few goes. At least I'm getting to the part where he's using the sword almost every time now.
