Conditions for Special Takedown Combo ?

It can't be just the yellow counter, since sometimes Bruce does not do anything, even when I press the corresponding button several times. This irritates me so much, that it breaks my concentration and I need to go back into the flow midaction.

Are in these cases the enemies to far or what am I missing ?

I am talking about the basic special attack, not about anyone, which needs to be unlocked first.

I believe that you have to be in melee range, as Batman only has a small ranged arsenal, and most of them are just used as distractions or to bring them closer to him. If the enemy is armored, you first need to hit them with a beatdown, which is when you stun them with your cape and then start hitting them again and again. If they're one of the larger minibosses, you need to cape-stun them three times before doing the beatdown.

I am not sure, whether you talk about STC or Beatdown. STC works fine on armoured enemies.

Yes, it works on the armored enemies, but only once you meet the requirements for a STC. That just means that your hit combo is at least x8, and you're within melee range. If both of those requirements are met, you can do the STC.

However, there's one circumstance where this doesn't apply, and that's if you've knocked an enemy to the ground without defeating them. If this is the case, then STC's won't work; you need to a Ground Takedown. That requires a different combo, and the instructions for doing that should appear on-screen.

Could you post a gameplay video of this? Maybe we would be able to give you some better help if we had that.

Perhaps that would be useful, but I am not recording anymore and also finished the Initiation. I do not expect to have masses of enemies around me soon.
