Also, because plot convenience.
Sure he would. He would accompish defeating Batman for good. If he tells anyone about Batman that person or group of people would either tell the whole world or keep it to themselves.
If the world knows then its the end of Bruce Wayne, thus the end of Batman, theres no getting out of that one. To elaborate; at the very least if Wayne escapes arrest the situation will be that Batman is acknowledged to be Bruce Wayne but as a vigilante on the run, everything that Bruce Wayne loves/has such as Alfred/Rachel/Selina/whatever woman etc would be in danger and used against him, he would no longer have the support/backing of his company that provides the gadgets and what not as Wayne industries will be out of business or more likely taken over by different board of directors. Wayne thus loses a major asset in his campaign to rid the city of crime. Not to mention his manor and bat cave. Fighting crime would be far too difficult, his family will be looked at with skepticism and Arkham Asylum which has a history with the Waynes would be in danger. Gotham is consistently in a crap state as it is, without Batman being able to do what he does efficiently Gotham will burn before Wayne has time to set up his new makeshift home in the sewers and a makeshift cellar for Alfred before he fails in the promise he made to his parents and to himself.
Not to mention even if Bane burned the mansion and attacked cave by himself without his henchmen knowing (why?) and almost killed Alfred (technically he did!) can you still defend the proposition that Bane or anyone he tells wouldnt gain anything from knowing it? The fact is Bain DID gain something from know it, Alfred's life. Bruce's emotional integrity. That was just one guy either on his own or with his henchmen (what about their memories?) imagine if more people knew. What happened to the cave and Alfred only proves my point.
If the person or group keeps it a secret, then Batman will be owned by them and they will have him at the balls because it is leverage. If Batman meddles in our affairs, the secret is out, if we get arrested, the secret is out. Then what happens? See above ^ Imagine if the Joker knew about Bruce Wayne, sure Joker wouldnt tell anyone, he probably wouldnt want to know due to spoiling his image of Batman but if he did know that brings a whole new angle to Jokers operations. Imagine the Rachel/Harvey Dent episode from the Dark Knight but not just a passing coincidence but a purposeful target.
Now you could argue that Bane has 'honour' and doesnt fight with secrets, I can understand him not telling the Joker or the police, but why not his own henchmen? Or Bird? The arguement that he has 'no reason' to does not imply he keeps it a secret from his own men. Ok even if he did not tell his own men then I gathered from the story that Bane attacked/burned down Wayne manor? Since the batcave is underneath, surely he didnt do that alone? What about those men?
The point I bring up is obviously important because the writers made sure to include the plot point that Bane loses his memory. You cant argue that Bane would not have anything to accomplish with the secret after his honourable defeat because the writers felt it was important to 'wipe his memory' after the defeat. The reason they felt it was important was because the having the secret continue to exist is a burden for future stories for the very reasons I said above. This is especially true when you reflect on the fact that AA and AC have already been told and Bane is in them, that would have been awkward, even more awkward if Bane told the prisoners the secret, including the Joker. You cant deny that AA and AC would be entirely different games with the secret as part of the plot.
Im not saying it should be illegal to have an enemy know Bruce,s secret and then memory wipe at the end, but the way it was done in AO was not very good imo due to basic plot holes. Doesnt bother me, I still love this game and I think its great but I cant deny that the whole identity revelation plot doesnt make a lick of sense. Or perhaps it does if Bane burned the mansion alone without any of his henchmen knowing he was there (but why?), Bane didnt tell ANYONE including his henchmen (<-- still cant get over the fact he attacked the cave on his own without any of his comrades knowing) for the sake of honor and that his memory was wiped and Bane conveniently did not let it slip during the fight with Joker in the electric chair or when he was high on TN1 with the prisoners around.
Batman is one lucky guy with all those loose ends wrapping themselves up on their own before even getting started.
Didnt expect to rant about it but there we go lol.
Bingo.
I didn't read most of what you said (it's pretty tl;dr), but I'll focus on this.
Essentially, Bane doesn't care about Batman being defeated unless he's doing it himself, with his own hands. In the Arkhamverse, Bane has no stake in Gotham itself (he's only there to fight Batman), so he has nothing to gain from just getting rid of Batman. What he really wants is to fight and defeat Batman, himself, proving that he is the superior combatant. Telling some random thug or a complete psychopath like Joker who he is wouldn't really help him accomplish this. If anything, it would probably just make it harder.
He's the only one if I recall correctly (Been a few months since I finished this game) that join the hunt not for the money but for personal reasons. I understand this may be hard to understand, but by revealing the true identity of the bat to the Joker, he may lose his chance to best the bat himself.
But Bane has his own agenda. Giving that information to anyone wasn't worthy enough for him. His goal is to break the bat himself and take over gotham. Just knowing he is the one who broke the Bat would be enough for anyone to not even try to get in his way. That's basically his goal in defeating the Bat.
I understand what you mean, it would be logical for any mobster trying to get rid of the Bat. But you have to understand the origing of Bane to understand why he's acting like this. He don't want the Bat out of the picture, he want to get the Bat out of the picture himself. To prove he is the best.
Well many times Bruce Wayne ask himself if he's not the cause of all that happen in Gotham. He may be right after all, there were no super evil criminals before the bats, just mobsters and petty criminals doing their stuff in Gotham. Then the criminals had to evolve in a certain way to fight the protector of Gotham.
So that's hard to tell, maybe it would pacify Gotham in it's own way if the Bat disapeared.
Well Bane has his own way...
Also you mixing things up here. Arkham Universe is it's own universe. The Dark Knight movies has nothing to do with this serie, story, plot or characters background.
Well it's not about honour, this guy is born in what may be considered the most dangerous prison of the worl. (In that world at least) It's not about honour, it's about dominance. The Bat dominate Gotham. All he know in his life is to dominate the others and prove that he is the best, the stronger and the most dangerous around. That's the reason he want to kill the bat. FRom his cell, he heard the legend of the Bat in Gotham who scare even the thougest criminals. He made a mission for himself to beat the Bat.
Not for honour, not for any code at all, just because he want to, he need to be the best.
Well if you take in consideration Bane profile, it is a problem for Bruce having someone as dangerous as Bane knowing his identity. It's dangerous for the life of Bruce and every one he know, more than the fear that Bane reveal his identity.
But well I think I covered this already, so I won't re-elaborate on this again...
Think of it as Jokers reasons. He did not want to find out who's behind the mask even if he has many opportunities to do so. "Where's the fun in that?"
Bane losing his memory is from the effects of overdosing the titan formula. hell even in AA and AC Titan Thugs go crazy overboard because of the titan. While for bane his not just an ordinary villain compare to the others so he just loses his memory same like for joker his crazy to begin with.
lastly...
Bane I presume attack the batcave alone. as stated from my 1st post ^^^ and the reason why he attack is because he wants to provoke batman to be serious and broke his one rule to never kill. that is why he purposely left alfred in such a state so that he can still have a few moments to talk to bruce to fuel his anger etc etc. remember this batman is still inexperience 2years of being batman and for the first time having an encounter with this villans.. he has anger management issues.
and Nolans trilogy has nothing to do with the arkham verse.
As stated by others in this discussion. we already did elaborate and clearly answerd you're questions. try turning on the subtitles and even listen to the thugs conversation to really understand the motivations, goals of each character and story.
