Glide Through Wooden Walls ... NOT!

I know that you're supposed to glide through wooden walls, it was an option back in Arkham City and I've heard that it's an option here too... so why doesn't work?

I'm now at the GCR building in the Diamond District and I want to break through the wooden wall which hides ENIGMA's jammer but whenever I glide into it, Batsy just glides off..

Any idea what's up with that?

Also I'm pretty sure that that's a wooden wall - - - the one that you should be able to glide through since it has wooden panels.

You destroy that GCR wall with Explosive Gel. You do this later in the game when you're able to lower the service lift.

Yeah, I was bummed with this one too. Somewhere in the Bowery you can even glide through a cement wall.

for some idiot reason the decided to remove that option. another stupid thing they did was make ariel takedowns unnecessarily long. making them useless on anyone that isnt carrying a shield

The arial attack isn't a takedown.It's most useful against sheilds, but certainl isn't useless against anything else.

it's changed in this compared to arkham city. for some reason batman decides to jump on the guy, wait a second and then punch him again. whereas in arkham city batman would jump on the guy and stand up. unless you use the ariel attack on shields it offers no help

Reading all the relevant posts I'm still confused because I can't really get close enough to the wall to even place the gel an blow it up, because Bats kinda layers the gel on the floor of the lift rather than a small part of the wall. So I dunno if there's a trick to this or not, or there's a gadget I am not considering to aid me in sticking some type of explosive onto the wall, besides the spray on explosive gel.
