1. Select game in Steam Library, right-click Properties, then Updates to choose preferences for Automatic Updating and to Allow Background Downloads if desired.
2. Select game in Steam Library, right-click Properties, then Local Files and Verify Integrity of Game Cache.
Second, disable DX11:
1. Locate BmEngine.ini, located here: Steam \ steamapps \ common \ Batman Arkham Origins \ SinglePlayer \ BMGame \ Config \ BmEngine.ini
2. Open BmEngine.ini with NotePad
3. Locate "AllowD3D10=False" and change False to True
4. Locate "AllowD3D11=True" and change True to False
5. Save file and restart computer before testing the game.
If this happened under the GCPD in the sewers, disabling DX11 and restarting your computer should easily fix it. If the freefall glitch occured inside the GCPD after collecting the Disruptor, this is where things get complicated. If disabling DX11 didn't work then you need to reinsert Batman by using the GCPD code for a modified F1 Teleport.
Not everyone's computer can perform these teleports because PC manufacturers will lock the fn key or the upper F-key functions on some makes and models to make repetitive tasks easier for office workers or first time users, but that doesn't help us gamers. First edit your BmInput to enable the F1 GCPD Teleport.
GCPD Reinsertion (Teleport into GCPD after collecting Disruptor)
1. Find file BmInput.ini in your Batman Arkham Origins folder: Steam \ steamapps \ common \ Batman Arkham Origins \ SinglePlayer \ BmGame \ Config \ BmInput.ini
2. Open "BmInput" with Notepad
3. Find the last line in [Engine.PlayerInput] that reads:
Bindings=(Name="TAB", Command="OpenLevelUpOrMap")
4. Paste the following AFTER the last line:
Bindings=(Name="F1", Command="start batentry?Area=PoliceStation,PoliceStation_A1?Start=MedicalCenter?Players=Playable_Batman")
5. The last two lines in [Engine.PlayerInput] should now read as follows:
Bindings=(Name="TAB", Command="OpenLevelUpOrMap")
Bindings=(Name="F1", Command="start batentry?Area=PoliceStation,PoliceStation_A1?Start=MedicalCenter?Players=Playable_Batman")
6. Save file and close BmInput
7. Start the game
8. Select game save where Batman is trapped in GCPD
9. At freefall or black room, press fn + F1. Keyboard must have a working "fn" key in order to teleport Batman to safety. Press Alt + F1 on some keyboards, or try just F1. If the teleport worked successfully, move Batman into the next room to set a new checkpoint and continue the game before quitting. Do NOT save and quit in the same room as the teleport reinsertion.
If you find that your computer can't do the teleports, add me to your friend list and I'll send you my email address offline. Then send me your save file. I'll reinsert Batman into the GCPD and return the save to you. If this is your first save slot, your .sgd save file is located here:
Steam \ userdata \ Steam User Number \ 209000 \ remote \ SpSave_v2_0.sgd
Follow the procedures step by step. Let us know your results.
