Can you play as Deathstroke?

Hi guys

I bought the game in steam sales some time ago. Seems a good game, but what really attracts me is the presence of Deathstroke, one of my favourite comic characters of all time.

He appears only an enemy for Batman or you can play as him? If so, how and when?

Hum. I read somewhere that if you want to play as Deathstroke in challenges you need to have an specific challenge pack or dlc? If so, it is not listed in the downloadable content of the game.

You can play the challenges (single-room combat or predator tasks) as Deathstroke without any DLC. It's part of the main game, but (I think) available only after you have beaten Deathstroke during the plot of the single player compaign.

The difference in playing as Deathstoke is that you look like Deathstroke and you have his tools instead of Batman's tools. The actual experience isn't very different.

Thanks! Yesterday I read somewhere that you can play as Deathstroke only if you preorder the game and obtain some dlc with him as playable character? But this was only in the moment of the game is launched and now the vanilla game comes with it?

I bought the game last month, I didn't buy any DLC, and I was still able to play the single-room challenges as Deathstroke. I iidn't do anything special, he was just there.

Guys, another question: I am with my first steps in the game and, yes, you can play as Deathstroke in challenge mode! However, he seems to appear only with his staff, not with his sword.

Its something I have to do (in story mode, I guess) to unlock his sword?

The Deathstroke equipment you see in the challenges is all there is. Deathstroke may draw his sword briefly to execute certain combat moves, but there are no options to make him carry the sword in his hand while just walking about.

This is not a game aimed at the 'maximum gore' certification. Batman doesn't kill, he disables, and his victim's bodies get surrounded by bats rather than leaking blood. Swords kill, they don't disable like Deathstroke's quarterstaff.

Thanks for the answer. A pity... I understand what you say about being a "disable game" but I think that if they let you play as Deathstroke you must play as him with all the consecuences. I mean that Deathstroke is like the greatest mercenary-assassin of the DC universe. Seeing him disabling targets when he can eliminate them is something that feels off for a fan of the character like me...

I not like the gore for the gore, nothing like that, but I think that killing people is essential for a character like Deathstroke. Keeping in mind that the game only lets you play as him in challenges, I think that giving you the sword and the gun for a little killing-fun could have been a coherent thing.

I understand your point. Deathstroke kills, and if they wanted to let you play as Deathstroke they should be honest to the character. You might argue that another character would have been a better choice.

It occurs to me that you might like to play the _Deus Ex_ games. In those you can choose to arm up and win the game though creative violence.
