Game won't progress, tried going back to the steel mill but nothing happens :(

Good job. If your in-game screen is cranked to maximum, you're setting bad checkpoints. Reduce it from inside the Graphic Options menu for better object and proximity registration. You should also disable DX11 to prevent unrecoverable floor texture glitches:
1. Locate BmEngine.ini: Steam \ steamapps \ common \ Batman Arkham Origins \ SinglePlayer \ BMGame \ Config \ BmEngine.ini
2. Open BmEngine.ini with NotePad
3. Locate "AllowD3D10=False" and change False to True
4. Locate "AllowD3D11=True" and change True to False
5. Save file and restart computer

Did you ever patch and verify the game? This should be done after installing any game and before disabling DX11, not after as doing so will revert the BmEngine.ini: to its unmodified condition:
1. Select game in Steam Library, right-click Properties, then Updates to choose Automatic Updating and to Allow Background Downloads.
2. Select game in Steam Library, right-click Properties, then Local Files and Verify Integrity of Game Cache.

Same happened to me.

Just make sure you are in the steelmill and game saved at that location.

Exit game completely.
Reload game.
Resume from last checkpoint.
It should take you back inside the steelmill.
Go to location of Copperhead fight.
Fight invisible copperhead and win.

Then game will progress as it should.
