Gadgets make no sense in this game
So in this game you have the grap hook boost from the very beggining. While in arkham citty the grap hook boost is in... testing? That's odd isn't it why would something be used regurarly and then 6 years after be in testing. Shock gloves are gone completaly in asylum and citty and are replaced with electromagnetic thing to control motors (obviously inferiour to the gloves). also batman can shoot his grapple hook all around the place while the line luncher can only stick to specific targets like gargoils and hooks.

yeah that also bugged me too with the grapple gun, i think it was a early version of the grapple boost cause in the one in city goes much faster than origins

Don't over think it, you might hurt yourself.

i still miss the shock gloves

and the grapple boost mabe not the mk2 one but 3 and 4 are definetly hazardous, sure it can hold the g's and how about the force on your arm.

Batman had a much tougher more armored suit in Origins. He didn't have to worry as much about, say, pulling his arms off, since it would pull on the suit instead, which was much tougher. Going to a more slimline fabric suit later on, would require a different approach to the boost.

I sense a troll
Origins, in general, does absolutely nothing to take advantage of being set in an earlier time period. Batman is stronger than ever, the story line is cliched "Batman vs. Joker" and Batman being younger, people not believing he exists, etc. has zero effect on the game.

It's a remarkable shame. There was a lot they could have done there -- a Batman with fewer gadgets relying more on stealth or having to fight differently, using fear as a tool to influence parts of the city, focusing more on crime bosses and gangsters or even lesser-known villains rather than make the story be 90% about Joker and Bane... the sky was the limit. Instead we got Arkham City with a slightly larger (but equally as empty) map, zero riddles, and a substantially worse upgrade system.

There is a reason Origins is regarded as the worst title of the bunch.

The grapnel boost is supposed to just be a refined version of the accelerator lore wise which is why it's a prototype.

He doesn't carry the other gadgets because he doesn't need to use them at the time as it "slows him down". Kinda stupid but it's Batman logic.

What's wrong with the grapnel boost in Arkham Knight? It takes place after Arkham City, so it's a natural evolution with the ability to hop from grapnel boost to grapnel boost, then later having Batman be able to sustain more intense grapnel boosts after donning a suit that can handle the G-forces.

Yeah, that does bug me. I try to keep in the headcanon that Batman found that the grapnel boost was too dangerous in the state it was in, and abandoned it. It would be cool if they did that as a retcon in the game Rocksteady is apparently working on that takes place between Origins and Asylum.
