Endless abyss of sadness and depression
So i was checking out my alibi for data packs and the whole place went black...well this happened before when i played through cold cold heart but never in the main game.
so i just used my memory to get myself out right?
well the game crashed or something as soon as i left and i had the exit it.
i came back to the game and i was free falling so i restarted from my last checkpoint.
now i can do nothing but slow walk forward in what seems like an invisible hallway with nothing but darkness...some pretty edgy stuff.
i can litterally do nothing but walk forward forever, i cant look around, i cant use gadgets, literally N O T H I N G and im getting pretty pissed off.
i've downloaded bootleg mexican .rar files that are supposed to fix the game, i tried playing the challenge maps then going back and restarting, ive verified my files (everytime it says 2 files failed to validate for some reason) i've screwed around and set my f1 key to that thing but it doesnt do anything...i've been up for hours trying to fix this ♥♥♥♥ but to no avail.
anyone have any idea on what to do or should i just grow a pair and restart.
Passing a kidney stone is easier than this BS

Welcome to WB Games quality, where releasing dlc is more important than patching glaring ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ issues with the game. I hope you find a fix, I never did. I just started over.

Try using another save file, if you can find one. Basically starting in another save slot will allow you to go all over again through the game and hope it wouldn't crash.

There's plenty of threads on this preventable glitch, many on this forum. Before posting did you search this forum for "freefal" and the internet for "Batman Arkham Origins freefall"?

Before you do any of the following solutions, patch and verify your game regardless whether you have auto-updating enabled. Do this before tweaking or modding the .ini files:
1. Select game in Steam Library, right-click Properties, then Updates to Allow Background Downloads.
2. Select game in Steam Library, right-click Properties, then Local Files and Verify Integrity of Game Cache.

Let's prevent this glitch from recurring by disabling DX11. This should be done after installing the game and before playing:
1. Locate BmEngine.ini, typically located here: Steam \ steamapps \ common \ Batman Arkham Origins \ SinglePlayer \ BMGame \ Config \ BmEngine.ini
2. Open BmEngine.ini with NotePad
3. Locate "AllowD3D10=False" and change False to True
4. Locate "AllowD3D11=True" and change True to False
5. Save file and restart computer

You've now prevented the freefall glitch from recurring, but you still need to be extracted. In order to perform an F1 Teleport your PC needs an unlocked and functional fn key:
1. Find file BmInput.ini in your Batman Arkham Origins folder: Steam \ steamapps \ common \ Batman Arkham Origins \ SinglePlayer \ BMGame \ Config \ BmInput.ini
2. Open "BmInput" with Notepad
3. Find the last line in [Engine.PlayerInput] that reads: Bindings=(Name="TAB", Command="OpenLevelUpOrMap")
4. Paste the following after the last line:
Bindings=(Name="F1", Command="start batentry?Area=OpenWorld?Players=Playable_Batman?unlockall")
5. The last two lines in [Engine.PlayerInput] should now read as follows:
Bindings=(Name="TAB", Command="OpenLevelUpOrMap")
Bindings=(Name="F1", Command="start batentry?Area=OpenWorld?Players=Playable_Batman?unlockall")
6. Save file and close BmInput
7. Start the game
8. Select game save where Batman is trapped
9. At freefall or black room, press fn + F1. Keyboard must have a working "fn" key in order to teleport Batman to safety. Press Alt + F1 on some keyboards.

Try those solutions in the order listed above, don't skip any steps. Not everyone's computer can perform the F1 Teleport because not everyone has a functioning fn key. If the above advice doesn't work you can add me and I'll do the teleport extraction for you and then return the save to you. I do teleport extractions for Origins players all the time, it's easy.

Let us know your results.
