Hello Responders!

There’s so much we want to say about this launch and the support we’ve been shown so far, but for now we’ll be focusing our gratitude on sharing some immediate improvements and then how we plan to resolve other issues players have reported with the Armageddon Update.

Firstly, we’ve added an Oceanic server in Australia for players in the region that have been experiencing higher pings than expected. We are monitoring to see if this improves for those affected prior by longer match times and worse quality. We’ve also updated matchmaking parameters to ensure players find their way to the best server possible!

We also had some feedback around the Loadout item selection, specifically what has changed since Early Access. While we made an intentional change to remove some of the highest power items from the system to encourage looting and preserve late game difficulty, some items have been identified as unintentionally disabled or reenabled based on community response:

• Baseball Bat

• Long Pipe (decreased from 1200 ➡️ 800 Credits)

• Tree Trimmer

• Hockey Stick (decreased from 800 ➡️ 400 Credits)

• Rochester 1873

• Satchel (increased from 450 ➡️ 1500 Credits)

For our Steam players, we’re happy to say we’ve now been Verified for Steam Machine and remain rated Playable on Steam Deck! Deck players can still get an excellent experience with some configuration settings based on their preferences for performance while Machine owners get a great experience right out of the box!

We’ve been tracking various crashes and bugs that have emerged as players push 1.0 to new heights on new platforms. Here’s an overview of what’s known and what we aim to fix first:

• Some players on PC with Nvidia graphics cards encountered hitching, which appears to be resolved by updating graphics card drivers.

• Various crash fixes

  • Memory issues that can occur when Responders are heavily customized. This occurs most often in squads, with DLC outfits, and when patterns and other added data is introduced.

    • Until this is fixed, we recommend not selecting clothing that has logos & patterns!

• Fixed an issue where players who played in Early Access could have hidden save data causing the controller scheme to be incorrect

  • Everyone's keybindings will be reset by this change. Our apologies!

• Improvements to server stability

• Some fixes for Customization materials not being applied appropriately

• Fixing players seeing a respawn message in Normal even after all respawn points have been crossed

• Adding additional respawns after the final objective and right before the extraction sequence in Normal, to give a fair chance at extraction for all players to complete a match

• Increasing the maximum sensitivity option for mouse and controllers

• Additional or remaining crash fixes

  • Improvements to memory usage which should resolve some crashes (especially on lower end machines and the Xbox Series S)

• Graphics settings menu scrolls back to the top after adjusting an option

• Fixes to address some achievement issues

• Further fixes for issues with menu navigation

• Fixes for missing textures, especially on the PS5

• Fixes for Beginner air drops being missing in Solo Mode

• Any issues Under Investigation that are resolved in time to be added!

• GeForceNow users are unable to play the game, crashing after Terms of Service

• Controllers can lose focus on various UI elements, including level up rewards and character creation

• Adjustments to the crossplay toggle to improve matchmaking time for players with crossplay disabled

• The Unload keybind does not rebind properly

• Controllers occasionally randomly vibrate

This is a collection of what we’re digging into right now when it comes to bugs and issues, but we have a much larger list of community feedback and suggestions that our team is discussing and planning for the future with. We’ll share more info on what’s next post-launch once we’ve gotten further along in improving the live experience!

No More Room in Hell 2 has officially launched out of Early Access on PC as well as onto consoles. Armageddon, our 1.0 update, contains all the content we’ve developed alongside our community these past 2 years as well as all-new features and improvements meant to make this the best zombie survival experience possible.

We’re excited to be able to welcome everyone to come together and fight for survival in our vision of the apocalypse!

Players enter No More Room in Hell 2 as Responders - volunteers who prior to the outbreak volunteered to the CRC to fill understaffed jobs during the initial NPV health crisis. None of them could’ve predicted the horrors that awaited them when the dead began to rise and suddenly were expected to act as a ragtag task force.

Each Responder has their own short background as well as a starting Skill based on their past experiences. You can manage up to 3 Responders at your campsite, slowly building their arsenal to diversify their strengths and curate them to a given mode or difficulty.

Over time, you’ll be able to further customize your Responder’s appearance to showcase how they’ve managed to overcome the undead and preserve a sense of self through the carnage.

Responders are assigned their specific missions by the CRC, meaning you will only select the overall goal prior to deciding which Responder to play as. There are two distinct mission types you can aim to accomplish:

Objective scenarios involve large scale maps that ask you to complete a linear progression of tasks for the CRC, culminating in a high-stakes extraction window.

Survival maps are smaller and more frantic from the start, asking Responders to defend speaker systems that lure up to 3 waves of zombies away from civilians.

Difficulty options allow you to aim for greater rewards in exchange for withstanding increased zombie numbers and challenges. Permadeath is always a threat at extraction or on complete mission fail, but higher difficulties mean every death is final.

While deployed, you may find yourself experiencing some symptoms of NPV. Reports indicate they can be as minor as coughing and severe as acute psychosis. Once you begin to see veins appear, you’re close to turning into the undead!

To delay or prevent this, look for phalanx pills around the map which can delay your condition and buy you valuable time to make it to an extraction option. These are limited use items with 3 doses per bottle, so keep track of your reserves and communicate with others. There is also experimental gene therapy that can cure you and give you immunity, but only one spawns per match.

When deployed onto a mission, the CRC requests you collect a quota of Supplies as a team, found next to your Inventory wheel. These Supplies are converted into Credits at final exfil, allowing you to purchase more gear or cosmetics for future runs. There are occasionally rarer forms of Supplies that provide heftier cash outs in exchange for taking up inventory.

There are two forms of extraction: Early and Final. Early extraction is available after a short period in a run to allow Responders to preserve their lives if the mission feels insurmountable. They receive no character progression, and only a small portion of Credits. Final extraction occurs at the end of missions, and anyone who extracts this way receives character experience and Credits equal to the whole team’s Supplies.

As you improve at the game and complete several successful runs, you’ll be able to invest your Credits into upgrading Skills to Expert level as well as gearing up your Responder for greater challenges. Increasing the difficulty you play on grants improved XP and Credit rewards, with the current endgame goal to complete Nightmare runs: where zombies are overwhelming and resources are scarce.
