deprived is insane
Just won many runs in a row with deprived with the same general strategy each time
Start with the permanent mana potion (golden spatula might be better but its rng)
Only use your skill on intelligence rooms and strength rooms (the basic +1 ones, so they upgrade to +3) - if you have full mana then you can curse something else, so you dont waste any mana regen
Your mana regen ramps up quick as you get curses and int, and eventually you'll be able to curse most strength and int rooms to end up with insane stats. and around 20-30 curses depending on how the run goes - multiplying said stats by 3-4x
For level ups, look for anything crit related (crit dmg per str is goated because you will have 100% crit chance), anything str or int related, and anything mana regen related (more so early game, you can roll these away later if you get a good tome)
Every run I've done like this i've instantly killed the later bosses before they could do a single attack

Go ahead and take Dex too if you want. You can afford it.

Just tried this build, and holy hell, it was insane; Big Chomper doing over 150k+ damage, last boss survived 7 hits total. Thanks for this!

New player here, just unlocked him
What mastery nodes suit this strategy? Do veteran players typically take the same mastery path or is it contextual to what your build is?

hey, the chazz the extra resurrection is good and so is the soul heart just because of how few health points he has to start. it would also be good to have better royal armory chance and the mastery node that makes it so when you get food it is more likely to get your highest stat

The two that make Curse proc less often for non-Cursed Hit things are also no-brainers.

thanks you two
I find the early floors actually pretty difficult on this character specifically compared to any other, but that's probably a skill issue. bad RNG with INT stat rooms in the first 2 floors is painful. when it gets going though it's ridiculous

This was my best run. started 1 shotting bosses after floor 6 including Death. Had 1k crit damage, highest single hit I saw was around 550k. Mageblood goes crazy with this setup too if you can be lucky with potion rooms. The only trait I felt was missing was Pocket Magic

yeah there is a sword in the game that does guaranteed crits at long range and that is what I used because of how little intelligence I had.

The best option for crit chance is probably picking up the strength trait called No Pain No Gain (Modifiers to your Cursed Hit Chance also apply to your Critical Hit Chance) meaning if you have 10 curse then you'll have at least 100% crit chance.

In a recent run I found Tiefling Gloves which grant attack speed = to your critical chance which scales insanely well when your crit chance is 200%+ lmao

I go full STR as Deprived, and aim for the "10% crit chance per curse" and try to grab as much cursed hit buff and modifiers, 100% massacre :papyruswacky:

This was pretty amusing. Can confirm, most broken and consistent build to pull off I've seen thus far. Also learned there definitely has to be some weighting for the "Curse" synergy style items. Once I hit 20+ Curse I saw a huge pile of items I didn't even know existed as I almost always go no/low curse runs. Ended at 31 curse.

Ended up with both Buff/Debuff scaling off Curse and like +500% movespeed, 5 stamina, aura so big I couldn't see the edges, 4 +100% speed orbitals, some arbitrarily large +% dmg and +crit dmg with Eldritch Bible just exploding the screen instantly.

A veteran player might correct me but as far as I know it's not just curse items / traits. Weighting applies to every item you're wearing (and possibly even ones just in your inventory you don't have equipped, which I don't like if it's true). The more tick speed items / traits you have the more likely you'll see more etc

Agreed, its probably for everything but tough to tell in a normal run. This was 100% verification that the mechanic exists for me.
